How to connect bluetooth boss atv radio

Boss Audio Bluetooth Not Working?

Is your Boss Audio Bluetooth not working? Bluetooth relies on both hardware and software to work correctly. Your two devices should speak a common Bluetooth language to pair seamlessly.

If your Boss Audio Bluetooth is not working, make sure you turn on the Bluetooth. Depending on the speaker model, enter Bluetooth mode by tapping the Bluetooth icon, pressing the mute button on the remote control, or pressing the mode button.

Because Bluetooth technology is backward compatible, you should not have problems pairing with previous versions.

You should still pair the latest Bluetooth 5.2 with the ancient 2.1, which was launched in 2017.

Why is Boss Audio Bluetooth Not Working?

Bluetooth pairing fails due to many reasons. This issue can range from mild annoyance to immensely inconvenient.

Fortunately, you can quickly fix it. Here are some common reasons why your Bluetooth is now working and what you can do about it.

1. The Device is not on Pairing Mode

Make sure your device is ready to be connected. Turn on the Bluetooth by pressing the Bluetooth icon of the Boss Audio.

2. Out of Range

Bluetooth devices need to be at least 20 feet of each other for a seamless connection. If you are having a pairing problem, try getting closer to your speaker.

3. Boss is Connected to Another Bluetooth Source

You cannot connect to another device if your speaker is already linked to another source. Most Bluetooth devices can only connect to one device at a time.

3. Low Battery

If your Boss speaker or the device you are trying to connect it with has a low battery, you need to charge your devices again to secure a connection.

Once you find the culprit for your pairing issue, you should be able to connect your speaker with your device. If not, make your devices forget each other and reconnect again.

How to Fix Boss Audio Bluetooth Not Working?

If the Boss Audio ATV Bluetooth not working, the most probable cause is user error.

Fortunately, the solutions to specific problems involve easy-to-follow steps. But, before you investigate further, restart your devices first.

Solution #1: Make Sure Your Bluetooth is Turned On

If you are using an Android or iOS device to connect with your speaker, you should see the Bluetooth symbol in the upper right corner of your smartphone or tablet.

Depending on your device, you can enable or disable Bluetooth through the Settings menu.

Android and iOS:

  1. Tap Settings on your device home screen or app screen.
  2. Select General.
  3. Click Bluetooth.
  4. Toggle Bluetooth to ON.

Windows:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Go to Devices.
  3. Click Bluetooth.

Note: If you wish to connect your Boss Audio to your MacBook, you will find the Bluetooth status icon on the menu bar.

Solution #2: Make Sure Both Devices Are Close Together

Bluetooth connectivity requires a distance of about 30 feet for pairing to be successful.

There shouldn’t be obstructions in between, or else you’ll get an unstable connection. Devices work better when closer together.

If your devices can’t connect, bring them closer together. Make sure they are within five of one another to pair them and avoid losing connection successfully.

If they are already within range but you still have pairing issues, remove any obstructions between the two devices.

Solution #3: Re-Pair Your Phone to Your Boss Audio Bluetooth

If your device sees your Boss Audio but is not receiving data from it, you may need to re-pair them.

Make sure your Bluetooth is on, and the accessory device is on pairing mode.

In iOS settings, break the connection by tapping the speaker’s name and selecting Forget this device. For Android, go to Settings > Device’s name > Unpair.

Note: You may need to turn off your device after deleting the device, power it back on, and wait a couple of minutes, then try pairing them again.

Solution #4: Make Sure to Activate Media Mode on Your Phone

If you are using a Galaxy phone, you can take control of your music and videos through the Media setting.

If you cannot play your music and video from the Quick settings, you may have disabled Show media and devices.

Activate Media mode on your phone by following these quick and easy steps:

  1. Swipe down to access the Quick Panel.
  2. Tap the three-dot icon, then tap on the Quick Panel layout.
  3. Toggle on Show media and devices.
  4. Once activated, you will be able to view Media and Devices in your Quick Panel.

Note: Settings may vary depending on your device and its software version.

Solution #5: Turn Both Devices Off and On

Boss Audio Bluetooth not working after trying different solutions may require a soft reset to resolve the issue.

To do this, turn off all devices. Then, turn them on again. Try connecting your devices once again.

With phones, it is a lot easier. All you need to do is turn on Airplane mode. Then, turn it off again.

If this does not work, a hard reset may be necessary. You will likely press a button for a certain amount of time. Once done, try connecting the devices again.

To reset the Boss Audio speaker, press the 1 and Volume Down buttons. Hold down both buttons for 10 seconds and wait until a message appears on the display.

The message asserts that you must hold down the buttons to reset your device to factory settings.

If you find that the reset device can connect to everything except your phone or tablet, you may need to reset the accessory devices.

Android:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Up key and Power key simultaneously.
  2. Use the Volume Down key to highlight the “wipe data/factory reset.”
  3. Use the Power button to select factory reset.

iOS:

  1.  Press and quickly release the Volume Up and Down buttons simultaneously.
  2. When the Apple logo appears, release the buttons.

Solution #6: Use an Aux Cable

If you’re still experiencing Bluetooth connection problems and want to listen to your favorite tunes from your phone, you might want to use an aux cable.

This is the quickest way to connect to your Boss speakers and enjoy it.

Here’s what you should do to connect your Boss speakers to your phone using an aux cable.

  1. Get a male-to-male 3. 5mm aux cable.
  2. Connect one end to your Boss speakers.
  3. Connect the other end to your smartphone

Note: For smartphones that do not have a 3.5mm audio jack, you might want to get an adapter so you can connect your Boss speakers to your phone.

It can be easy to miss but check the Bluetooth for both devices if your Boss Audio does not connect wirelessly with your phone. One or both of them is likely turned off. Turn them on, and they should connect and allow you to enjoy listening to your favorite jam on your Boss speakers.

I've installed car audio gear in a pumpkin. True or false?

I've driven all over – up, down, and coast to coast – and my best memories all have a soundtrack. Music is something I don't leave home without, and after enduring my fair share of crummy systems, I know that quality gear makes a long drive a joy. On those golden days, when the windows just have to go down, I need power and speakers that can handle it.

While I've clocked a lot of highway miles, I've also logged a lot of hours listening to car speakers from the best in the industry. And I've installed those speakers in a variety of vehicles, from sport coupes to minivans. Every listening environment is unique, every series of speakers has its own sonic stamp, and speakers perform differently depending how they're used. And while it's easy to get overwhelmed by specs, my best advice is to ask yourself. what's gonna put the biggest grin on your face when you just gotta turn it up?

You can power the ATV30BRGB via your 12-volt power port and switch it from vehicle to vehicle, or use the included adapter for a more permanent wiring directly to your vehicle's battery.

And if you're worried about getting this system wet, don't be. Boss has gone to every effort to protect these components from the elements and corrosion with coated circuit boards and a tough, waterproof encasement.

Speakers and amps in one package

Bush-hogging or just muddin', you'll get plenty of volume to drown out engine noise. Polypropylene-injected carbon woofers serve up solid punch while oversized 1-1/2" soft dome tweeters rocket the high notes, backed by a built-in amp for respectable sound.

Bluetooth® under blue sky

Pair your media device via Bluetooth (or plug into the 3.5mm headphone jack), and you'll have inline "up," "down," "play," and "pause" controls to navigate your music. You'll control the volume through your media device.

Kick up a light show

Keep things lively by the campfire with the ATV30BRGB's illumination mode, which lets you adjust the color of the system's built-in lights, their speed and brightness. Plus, you can change things up with an included wireless remote.

A

It doesn't charge, it doesn't have an internal battery. It runs off the 12v power of the atv

[ Ryan  Nov 02, 2020 ]

A

Technically yes, you can put this in a car since it is a 12 volt application, however we don't recommend this for car use. We have advisors that can help build a more stable system in your vehicle. Give us a call at 800-324-9695 for more information!

You can check to see if this will fit your vehicle by using our Outfit My Car tool: http://www.crutchfield.com/car/carselector.aspx For additional details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle.

A

there should be a button on your controller that lets you change the lights to one color. I don't like the fact that the connector where you plug it in got rusted and will not work.

[ Jennifer  Jun 23, 2020 ]

A

It sounds like your lights are still in the demo mode. Youd have to check the owners manual to be sure, but i think if you hit the demo button on the remote it'll tuen that off and you can then choose your color using the remote.

A

Yes, we have ours above the windshield on roll bar, they have three different size clamps in the box.

[ David  Mar 27, 2021 ]

A

Ive had mine sitting out in the weather for almost a year and it still works great. Sounds just like the day I bought it, and yes it is bluetooth. Love mine

[ Adrian  Mar 14, 2020 ]

A

No there is no output for connecting it to a home subwoofer. It also runs on a 12-volt power supply instead of the traditional 120 volt for home A/V gear.

[ CASEY  Mar 03, 2020 ]  Staff

A

There is a remote to turn them on or off

[ Kaitlyn  Feb 13, 2020 ]

A

Not unless there is a way to mount it on your jet ski. Our jet ski doesn't have a place to mount it.

[ peyton  Jun 28, 2019 ]

A

I didn't have good luck with my speaker. I had it on a atv and it quit working after 3 months. Salt water would ruin it quick I believe

[ Trent  Jun 24, 2019 ]

A

I used it on my fourwheeler it was a perfect fit for my front rack. I wouldn't see a problem mounting it on a jet ski though. My only problem was the cheesy straps they sent with it

[ RICHARD  Jun 24, 2019 ]

A

It would be difficult to mount on a motorcycle. I mounted it on a 4 wheeler.

[ DAVID  Jun 11, 2019 ]

A

You would likely need something like a 12-volt reducer as most golf carts operate on a 36 or 48 volt system. We don't carry such a product in our current inventory.

[ CASEY  May 21, 2019 ]  Staff

A

It does require 12volt power from the vehicle (comes with the DC power plug) but draws less than 15 amps of current.

[ Ryan  Feb 18, 2019 ]  Staff

A

Probably not. Do not recommend this product due for its wiring of controller.

[ DAVID  Nov 10, 2018 ]

A

It plays music via bluetooth from players such as your phone or an mp3 player that SEND bluetooth signal. A car stero receives bluetooth signal, it doesn't send signal. So no i dont think it will bluetooth to a car radio.

[ chris  Nov 10, 2018 ]

A

Call boss. If it is within like 3 years from purchase and you have your receipt, they will send you a replacement bluetooth wired remote and parts to replace the power cord that plugs into your cig lighter.

[ chris  Jun 26, 2018 ]

A

It's hard wired. I need a new one also. Bad design.

[ DAVID  Jun 26, 2018 ]

A

Yes

[ Kevin  Jun 23, 2018 ]

A

Yes I have mine in the roof of my tyrex

Audition speakers before you buy

SpeakerCompare simulates the sound of home and car speakers through your headphones. It lets you compare sonic characteristics between speakers so that you can make a more informed shopping decision.

Why selecting your headphones is important

SpeakerCompare tailors your listening experience to the exact headphones you have, so that what you hear is comparable to auditioning speakers side-by-side in person. Knowing which model headphones you’re using lets us remove any sonic coloring from your experience.

Two different listening modes

In an actual listening room, you'd find that some speakers play louder than others when fed the same amount of power. In equal power mode, you'll hear these differences in loudness as they naturally occur between speakers.

In equal volume mode, we've made the loudness of each speaker about the same. This gives you a more direct comparison of subtle voicing differences between speakers.

Nothing beats listening to speakers in your space

SpeakerCompare gives you a sense of the sonic differences. But performance in the real world is affected by the acoustics of your car or home, your choice of amplification, and your source material. We still believe that the gold standard for auditioning speakers is hearing them in your own environment — that’s why we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Our Listening Kit

To help you choose the right speakers, we recommend using Crutchfield’s SpeakerCompare Listening Kit. It includes a pair of studio-quality headphones, and a guide to getting the most out of your session, and a few other necessary items. We’ve carefully chosen the components of this kit to ensure a crystal-clear listening experience. It’s available for a nominal rental fee, and includes a $25 Crutchfield merchandise credit.

When I start the car for the first time, Bluetooth connection works fine. As soon as I stop the machine and restart it, the device pauses and stops playing. I will be using a bluetooth speaker. I have since found this to be a problem with my phone even though my phone worked with bluetooth speakers. I changed my phone and everything works fine. Great base unit!

First, it's not just programming. This is very confusing, even for myself, because I have tuned in to a lot of radio stations. I don't usually buy JVCs, I prefer Pioneer/Alpine, but the buyer wanted it to be cheap. Looks like a nice compact device but only has 2 RCA plugs which is fine for what I needed to do but keep that in mind for other uses.

I have Jetta 1999 years old, thanks to this head unit, I now have state of the art Bluetooth audio, voice commands, a microphone, and is also easy to install. does its job. Bluetooth works fantastic, at $70 I would recommend to anyone looking for a basic single din head unit with reliable BT audio. Does exactly what it says.

24 no need to visualize the correct EQ settings. The old style was much more comfortable, even for audiophiles like me. What I liked is the narrow fit, all the cables and more fit behind the stereo, making it easy to install. The overall sound is predetermined. I need to connect another component, the subwoofer, and set it up and I will update my review.

Bought for my work truck to replace my old stereo so I had bluetooth. JVC has always been a great product and this one is cheap! It is light and weak in power! I only have 2 x 6.5" speakers at the moment and he can barely drive them! I have a pair of 6x9 speakersthat I replace on the doors and I doubt they will be able to push them! I would recommend buying an amplifier if you need power! I'll keep you posted!

I bought it to improve the sound of my system, but it doesn't work at all. There is no bass at all in this unit and the sound is very tinny. I was replacing an old Pioneer radio without an amplifier, which was constantly broadcasting at low frequencies. I'll wait for the new speakers to arrive and see if that makes a difference, but I doubt it. It says 22W RMS which is more than the 17W my Pioneer had. This alone should have sounded better. Keep shopping

Pros & Cons

Excellent basic stereo system

David B. Butterfield 9000 to replace the cheap Boss head unit. This device seems to be better made than the boss. It was pretty easy to install. The only thing I'd give it credit for is that the documentation itself isn't very helpful and it took a few tries to pair Bluetooth before I figured out what it was asking for. The sound quality is good. It's getting loud. There is distortion around the maximum volume, so I keep it about 10% below the maximum volume to avoid this. It also comes with a standalone microphone that plugs into the back of the device. You can run it up the "A" leg and place it where it works best. I chose a fairing near the visor. The wife says the sound quality is clear and loud, so no complaints. For the price, I don't think it could be better. I tried 4 (count them) 4 cheap Boss head units before I bought them. They served for about 8 months and then burned out. I hope…

The functionality of the radio suits me. The sound is good, I think it deserves four stars. However, I think the description should be MUCH clearer, that you need to buy a separate stereo wiring harness specific to your car, and that a separate steering wheel control interface (ASWC-1) is needed if you want steering wheel control to work. The stereo wiring harness was $20 from AutoZone, which was reasonable (and I had no choice). You also need to buy wire butt connectors, which were cheap and didn't require much skill.
