Rust Busters: Spray Solutions for Seized Fasteners and Other Metal Hardware

For those of us living, working, and playing on the water, rust can show up all too often, as the trailer for one of Practical Sailors test boats recently reminded us. Testers tried four aerosol products marketed as penetrating oils-WD-40, Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, and CRC Freeze-Off-on the rusted U-bolts, and seized nuts and bolts of the neglected trailer to determine which is the best rust buster.

                                                      ****

Rust. It can spoil your day.

When it builds up between two metal parts that are supposed to move, it can really be a project-stopping pain. For those of us living, working, and playing near water, it shows up all too often.

Rust consists of oxides of iron or steel formed by the action of moisture and oxygen on the metal surface. Salt water, spray, and air add an electro-chemical reaction that can lower the PH and speed up the process.

Using quality stainless-steel hardware and proper maintenance on board should prevent major incidents or inconvenience. However, when left unattended in moist conditions, metal parts on older vessels, machinery, and trailers inevitably will lock up with rust.

There are many products on the market claiming to be “rust removers” or “rust dissolvers.” Most contain acids of some type, are messy to apply, and are not recommended for use on fiberglass boats. (Well look at these in a future article.)

Tests that involve rusty bits are not an exact science, primarily because rusted parts are like snowflakes: No two are alike. The chemistry can get complicated, and empirical tests tend to be inconclusive. We tried anyway.

Practical Sailor had an immediate need for rust busters when we were refurbishing an old trailer for our ODay Javelin test boat, Misty. Most of the U-bolts and nuts and bolts holding the pads were in various stages of corrosion. So we attacked the seized hardware with several penetrating sprays, and a test ensued.

What We Tested

We acquired four aerosol products marketed as penetrating oils that would loosen rusted bolts: WD-40 from the WD-40 Co., Liquid Wrench from Radiator Specialty Co., PB Blaster from the Blaster Corp., and Freeze-Off from CRC Industries.

The products are well known, and the sprays are readily available at local hardware and marine supply stores and online. The sprays have five basic functions:

Penetrate deep between two metal parts by capillary effect.

Provide a solvent to dissolve or affect corrosion and rust.

Displace or dry out moisture.

Provide a lubricant to ease friction of moving parts.

Provide a film coating for long-term protection.

All four tested sprays provided at least three-and sometimes four-of these functions with varying effectiveness. We found that all were good products for what they do.

How We Tested

We applied a different spray on the bolts in each quadrant of Mistys trailer and noted the ease of loosening and removing the rusted nuts. Manufacturer directions were followed. Light tapping with a hammer was applied to loosen the rust. Wrenches and even a pipe extension were sometimes needed to apply pressure.

In a separate test, we applied Freeze-Off and PB Blaster to an abandoned pump and machinery left outside for several years.

WD-40

Originally released in 1953, so the story goes, it was the companys 40th attempt to formulate a workable “Water Displacement” formula that was successful, and the name stuck. WD-40 is a petroleum product designed to displace moisture, penetrate between surfaces, provide lubricant, and leave a thin, oily film for protection.

The newer WD-40 cans have a “Smart Straw,” a unique, foldable straw permanently attached. Considering the number of red straws weve lost overboard or into the dark recesses of cockpit lockers, testers found the fixed applicator a “smart” innovation indeed.

Bottom line: Tests found WD-40 to be best at displacing moisture, providing light lubricant and a thin film for protection, but its solvents were not as effective as others.

Liquid Wrench

Another trusted name in penetrating oils, the petroleum Liquid Wrench was designed to have a capillary effect to penetrate and lubricate in hard-to-get-to places and will loosen some rusted parts. It does not dissolve rust but supplies lubricant and a graphite base to reduce friction, protect metal, and inhibit corrosion. Application requires a red straw that comes taped to the can.

Bottom line: Liquid Wrench does a better job than WD-40 of penetrating, and also provides lubricant and a graphite protectant.

PB Blaster

Another old and venerated product, PB Blaster has been around for over 50 years. It is a concentrated copolymer petroleum product with a catalyst that has a unique foaming capillary action.

Its deep penetration qualities are well documented. It has the ability to stick to metal and work its way uphill, breaking surface tension caused by rust and corrosion. Like the others, it includes a lubricant and comes with a red straw applicator.

Bottom line: PB Blaster has a strong solvent and deep chemical and capillary penetrating effect. It also contains several lubricants and leaves a thin, oily protective film. It did the best job of loosening the rusted bolts on our trailer, and so takes the top spot for this usage.

CRC Freeze-Off

Less than two years old, CRCs Freeze-Off is not a petroleum oil lubricant, but is specifically designed to loosen rust-bonded metals. Almost half of the formula is the propellant HFC152A, which when exposed to air, immediately drops the temperature of what it touches about 60 to 70 degrees. The formula also includes special penetrating solvents.

The idea is to spray the affected rusted parts for about 10 seconds to cause a sudden drop in temperature that contracts the metal. This should open cracks and fissures in the rust, allowing the solvents to penetrate deep between the metal parts to dissolve more rust. The company claims the formula will not harm fiberglass or plastics, but caution should be taken when using around rubber gaskets.

Bottom line: Freeze-Off has the unique ability, under the right conditions, to contract metal parts so that their solvent can penetrate deeper. It has limited lubricant and protective properties.

What We Found

The bolts sprayed with just WD-40 were the hardest to break free. Testers were a little more successful with Liquid Wrench.

The Freeze-Off and PB Blaster applications worked even better. Both of their solvents seemed to have good penetrating power. However, the lower temperature of the Freeze-Off just didnt seem to make a difference. Multiple applications seemed to help, but in the end, the yellow foaming PB Blaster dissolved and loosened more rust.

Conclusion

Practical Sailor talked to three mechanics in metal shops that deal with rust in cars, truck, and trailers. They all reported using PB Blaster to loosen frozen bolts, but admitted applying heat and several good wumps with a hammer to the stubborn ones.

There will be situations when a torch and wumps can’t be used. Thats when Freeze-Offs concentrated spray and cooling effect to break free a rusted part will be a better choice, especially near fiberglass and plastic.

Depending on the job at hand, all these sprays will work. But the top performer at curing our frozen bolts was PB Blaster.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions for Nerf Blasters

1.
What ages are Nerf blasters suitable for?

Boys of all ages love blasters. That is why there is no upper age limit for Nerf blasters.

The lower limit for each blaster is indicated in the product card.

  1. For most series this is 8+.
  2. But there are a series of exceptions to the rules. For example, Rival series blasters are designed for teenagers and even adult nerfers. Projectiles - balls are denser and have a high speed when flying, therefore the recommended age is from 14 years.
  3. But preschoolers were not ignored either. The new Nerf Nitro series, blasters that shoot small racing cars, are easy to use and are designed for kids ages five and up.
  4. Many Super Soaker water blasters have a recommended age of 6-7 years.

All Nerf blasters are safe and use soft ammo, but it's up to you to decide if a blaster is right for your child.
And if you still decide to purchase a blaster for a child under the recommended age, then you need to pay attention to the weight of the blaster and ease of use. Some compact blasters have a trigger so hard that a 6-7 year old child can't handle it.

At the same time, large automatic blasters are easier to use, as it requires no effort at all to operate.

The weight, size of the blaster is usually listed in the description of the blaster and can be analyzed to make a decision.

2. If the blaster constantly chews arrows, is it broken?

Unfortunately, all blasters can sometimes chew arrows. The main reason for chewing is not the blaster itself, but the use of deformed arrows.

Some blasters even have a window for removing stuck darts.

A few simple rules will help to avoid or at least reduce the number of such "misfires":

  • First of all, do not use deformed arrows (previously chewed, dog-bitten, not original, old and lost density)
  • Load the magazine (if it has one) with the number of arrows for which it is designed. In some clips, you can load 1-2 more arrows, but almost always such experiments end with the arrows chewing up and deforming them.

3. Inserted batteries into an automatic blaster, but it does not fire.

Many blasters have a special window for removing chewed arrows. To prevent a child from sticking a finger in there when the blaster motor is running, this window has a sensor that blocks the motor when it is not fully closed. Moreover, even a very narrow, invisible gap is enough.

If the blaster does not start, first of all, you need to make sure that this window is closed: open this cover a couple of times and close it tightly.

This situation can occur in blasters: Nerf Fortnine AR-L, Nerf Revoltinator (they have a window on the side), Nerf Stryfe, Nerf Ultra One and other automatic blasters.

Well, the second, unfortunately, a common reason - the batteries are discharged and cannot start the engine.

4. How to understand the variety of Nerf arrows?

Although there are many varieties of Nerf arrows, in fact, there are not so many main types of ammunition. These are standard size arrows (suitable for most blasters and series), larger arrows (for Mega series blasters), high density balls (for Rival series blasters), rockets and darts. But if you want to use darts and rockets, keep in mind that for this you need a certain type of blaster that fires these ammunition. In fact, most Nerf blasters, crossbows, and bows fire standard arrows. Almost all N-Strike, Zombie Strike, Doomlands 2169 series blasters, Modulus, use the standard Nerf arrows. There are many varieties of standard size arrows: decorated, glow in the dark, with suction cups, with Velcro, Accustrike. Arrows with suction cups - just have the ability to stick to any smooth surface, decorated - have different colors and prints. Decorated arrows are easy to identify and collect after combat. Glowing - look very impressive in low light or in the dark. Accustrike series arrows have a specially designed "rifled" tip for more accurate shooting.

5. Do Nerf blasters require batteries?

Most Nerf blasters do not require any batteries as they are mechanical, but there are exceptions - automatic and semi-automatic blasters. They have a battery powered motor. In each product card, you will find the type of blaster, the number and (if necessary) the type of batteries required.
In addition, there are a few Nerf mechanical blasters that require batteries to power the modules or just light. You can shoot from such blasters without batteries, but if you want to use the functions of the blaster to the maximum, batteries are indispensable.

6. Do Nerf blasters make a lot of noise?

In general, Nerf mechanical blasters are virtually silent. Much more noise is made by nerfers during "battles". Your blaster makes some clicks and pops. Mega arrows, for example, have a characteristic whistle in flight, but rest assured that these sounds will not disturb others. If noise levels are important to you, just avoid the noisiest auto blasters.

7. We're buying our first blaster and we want to make sure we don't have problems chewing arrows.

To do this, you will need to monitor the condition of your arrows:

  1. Load the blaster only with the correct ammunition, Hasbro's Nerf arrows.
  2. Make sure your arrows are not warped.
  3. Do not throw arrows, in order to avoid getting wet, isolate them from adverse weather conditions.
  4. Read the instructions immediately and try to load the arrows into clips and drums of the blaster correctly, without jamming.

Some blasters have a compartment for removing chewed arrows. By dropping the compartment cover, you can easily remove the stuck arrow.

8. I want to buy spare magazines, but I'm not sure if they are compatible with my blasters?

Nerf blaster clips are available for 6, 10, 12, 18 darts. They are designed to quickly reload blasters. An important advantage is that they are all interchangeable and fit any Clip System blaster. So, if you wish, you can replace the clip that came with your blaster with a larger magazine or even a drum.

9. Which Nerf blaster is the most accurate?

If you just want some advice on which Nerf blaster we recommend as the most accurate, our current recommendation is the Nerf Rival Apollo.

But in Nerf wars, accuracy isn't always relevant. This question comes to the fore only in single-shot blasters or blasters designed for a small number of arrows.

In this case, you will need to know the following rules:

  1. The accuracy of a blaster is highly dependent on external factors (arrows, your keen eye).
  2. Keep in mind that blasters designed for younger nerfers weren't intended to be "super accurate".
  3. Even if you are an experienced shooter, with a new blaster you just need to "shoot".
  4. If you plan to use accessories that improve accuracy (sights, tactical grip, etc.), be sure to practice with them before combat, getting used to the increased weight of the blaster and its change in balance.
  5. Keep your ammo in order by getting replacement packs of arrows on time. For good accuracy, the arrows should be as uniform as possible (in weight, size and shape).
  6. You can also improve your accuracy by purchasing arrows with a "rifled" tip - Accustrike.
  7. Don't forget there are some accessories to increase the accuracy. This is a barrel extension, stock, tripod or scope.

10. Explain the difference between Nerf semi-automatic and automatic blasters?

  • Semi-Automatic Blaster - A blaster that fires only one projectile when the trigger is pulled. The blaster is reloaded automatically, but the shooter must press the trigger for each shot.
  • Automatic Blaster - A blaster in which, when the trigger is pressed and held, the mechanism is overloaded and fires the next projectile until you release the trigger or the magazine runs out of ammo.

11. How to properly load the blaster magazine (we have Crossbolt)? I'm afraid my son will ruin the arrows.

This is an important question, although it shouldn't be too difficult. All magazines on Nerf N-Strike blasters are standard and load the same way. When buying any blaster with a magazine, just pay attention to the child, teach him how to properly load the magazine. And you need to do it - from the side. We do not recommend loading cartridges from above (most often children do just that), with this method, over time, the arrows are deformed and subsequently can be chewed by a blaster.

12. What is the size of the Nerf Elite tactical vest? And one more thing: will Mega arrows fit in it?

Nerf Elite Tactical Vest (A0250)

Elite Tactical Vest, available in one universal size. It is designed for children, but thanks to the adjustments (strap to adjust the width at the waist), it can also fit an adult, size XS.

On the second question, we can say that the vest is designed specifically for the Elite series and is compatible with the N-Strike series. But since the arrow holder bands are elastic, it can hold Mega arrows. But in order to avoid creases and deformation of the arrows, we recommend not to keep them in it for a long time after the game.

13. What is the difference between bullpup weapons?

This arrangement places the bolt, firing mechanism and magazine (if any) behind the hammer.

Bullpup design makes the blaster more compact. The overall length of the weapon is significantly reduced without changing the length of the barrel, thus obtaining a compact design, without loss in accuracy and firing range.

14. Are Nerf Modulus accessories compatible with other Nerf series?

Nerf Modulus accessories

Yes. All Nerf accessories (all series using standard Nerf arrows as ammunition) connect to one of three attachment types:

Stock Attachment Point. In real weapons, the buttstock gives considerable stability when shooting, making shooting easier by absorbing recoil. Despite the fact that Nerf blasters do not have strong recoil, stocks make aiming easier, and the blaster itself is more comfortable to hold. Some butts have additional functions: holders for arrows, rockets.

Nerf Barrel Attachment Point Barrel extensions are accessories that increase shooting accuracy. In addition, they add realism to the blasters necessary for role-playing games. Some barrel extensions themselves have an attachment point, which allows you to attach several attachments to the blaster at once!

Nerf Tactical Bar Most Nerf blasters have a tactical bar on top.

Smaller blasters (like the Hammershot) have neither a barrel extension nor a stock mount, but with a tactical rail, are compatible with all standard scopes, flashlights, laser sights, N-Strike series shields. All these accessories, in addition to their main function, change the appearance of your blaster, allow you to create a “superweapon”.

The presence of tactical rails and the possibility of attaching the barrel and stock must be indicated in the description on our website. When buying a blaster, make sure it has the options you need.

15. Dreaming of a SlingFire blaster, but how reliable is the blaster arm?

The blaster is designed for lever tricks, so all the "thin" parts of the lever inside the plastic contain metal. You don't have to worry, the lever will withstand all your experiments.

16. Do Rival blasters shoot arrows?

Rival Zeus can fire Mega Arrows. Such experiments have been carried out. However, such shooting does not make sense - only three Mega arrows are placed in the clip of a powerful semi-automatic blaster. In a nerf fight, you're better off using standard Rival ammo.

17. What do the complicated names of Rival series blasters mean: letters, Roman numerals?

As stated in all our descriptions, the name of the Rival series blaster is the name of one of the gods of Greek mythology.
Roman numerals in each name indicate the year the blaster was made. So, for example, Apollo (XV = 15), was released in 2015.
Don't be surprised by the letter M before the Roman numerals in the names of some blasters. It is from the English word "Motorized" and indicates the presence of a motor in the blaster. Those. only available in automatic blasters. In mechanical blasters, there are no letters before the Roman numerals.
You probably already guessed that the more familiar Arabic numerals indicate the capacity of the blaster clip: 700 - seven balls, 4000 - forty, 3000 - thirty.

18. Rival series blasters have a recommended age of 14+ in the description. Should I buy a small, compact blaster in this series for a ten year old?

The main advantage of Nerf blasters is the safety of both nerfers and those around them. In real-life Nerf Rival fights, both arrows and Rival softballs have been proven to do no harm, and are much safer than other toy weapons such as paint balls. But Rival blasters were designed as fun for the older age group: teenagers and even adults: powerful, fast-firing and accurate. Shooting will require strong and strong hands, shooting itself will require significant effort from the child (even a compact Apollo with a large handle). But some believe that seven-year-olds can handle shooting Rival blasters, but with adult supervision and face protection.
Rival face masks will be essential for adults to provide mouth, eye and nose protection. Face contact is not painful, but still causes discomfort.

19. Please tell me how to remove the drum from the Surgefire Nerf blaster?

The drum on the Surgefire is supplied separately and must be preassembled. When preparing the blaster, it is installed by snapping onto the blaster. Loading arrows does not provide for the removal of the drum.

We do not recommend removing the drum again. But if necessary, it is possible. There is a hole on the front of the drum body that can help with this. Insert a screwdriver into the hole and press it down at the same time, removing the drum from the blaster.

20. We really like the new Nerf Infinus blaster - I want to buy it for my son. How difficult is it to deal with?

Blaster Infinus is definitely cool and will meet your expectations!

For newbie nerfers, it's very important to get it right before you start playing.

For clear, trouble-free play with the Infinus blaster, it is important to ensure that the following is done:

  1. Batteries are correctly oriented as shown in the manual and in the battery compartment.
  2. The drum is completely installed in the blaster. To do this, during installation, you should hear the sound "CLICK".
  3. Arrows must be mounted with plastic heads against the barrel.
  4. Arrow retrieval flap must be fully closed in case of a jam.
  5. When you pull the trigger, you should hear a beep BEFORE the bullets are fired. There is a certain sound indicating that the blaster is working.

If you handle the arrows carefully and follow all the rules, there will be no problems with the blaster.

21. What is the Slam Fire mode?

Slam Fire Mode (also Rapid Fire Mode, Continuous Fire Mode) - Allows certain blasters to fire arrows at a faster rate of fire. If there is such a function in the blaster (this is indicated in the descriptions on our website), you have a choice:

  • Shoot at normal speed by cocking the bolt and then pulling the trigger.
  • Shoot faster: pull the trigger, and while holding it, move the bolt handle as fast as you can. It is precisely the skipping of the trigger pull for each shot that gives a gain in time, while the rate of fire of the blaster increases.

This mode can reduce range and accuracy, but it's very cool and great for short range battles. Therefore, the “Slam Fire” function is available in many blasters, for example: Artemes XVII-3000, Brainsaw, Disruptor, FlipFury, Rampage, RotoFury, Rough Cut2x4, SurgeFire, Tri-Strike. The Doominator and DoubleBreach blasters actually have Slam Fire but are not advertised as such.

22. To avoid collecting arrows, my boys shoot their mechanical blasters without cartridges. They won't ruin blasters like that?

Avoiding dry shooting is one of the main rules that will help increase the life of your mechanical blasters.
Such a game causes them serious damage. Intensive shooting without arrows leads to additional stress on the spring. And over time it can break down. Therefore, it is better not to encourage such games if you want Nerf to serve you longer.

23. Can you please tell me if the arrows for the blaster are disposable? If so, is it possible to order an additional kit from you?

Arrows are of course not disposable and with careful handling they can be used for a long time.

Buy new if:

  • Most of the old arrows are lost (the most common case)
  • The arrows are deformed (they were stepped on, the dog gnawed on them)
  • The blaster chewed up the arrow (unfortunately, this happens and after that the arrows are deformed and “chewed” almost constantly)
  • Arrows have lost density, although they look like new. This is because the arrows are made of soft foam material. Over time, its density deteriorates, air begins to pass through them and the blaster pump can no longer push the arrow out.

24. Blaster stopped working. Arrows stopped flying out of it.
Now just renovations? How to repair a blaster?

Arrows made of soft foam. Over time, they wear out, the density of the material deteriorates, air begins to pass through the arrows and the blaster pump can no longer push the arrow out.

Therefore, if you notice that the arrows have stopped flying - first of all, try replacing them with a new set, it is highly likely that this will fix the problem.

25. How different is the range of Nerf blasters?

Average range for Nerf blasters varies by series. For example, in the N-Strike series, blasters had a range of up to 20 meters, but the introduction of the N-Strike Elite series increased the range to 22 meters!
If you're looking for blasters with even longer ranges, check out the Mega series blasters. The blaster range of the series is 27 meters.
It is worth noting that all these ranges are claimed by Nerf, and in fact may vary slightly, as weather conditions and other factors may affect the firing range.

26. How can I get maximum range with my blaster?

First of all, keep in mind that each blaster has its own “task”. There are blasters for close combat, there are blasters that provide an amazing rate of fire, excellent range.

First of all, decide which category your blaster belongs to. Perhaps the range is not his strong point.
What can be done?

  1. Aim the blaster at a 35-40 degree angle when shooting.
  2. Ensure that the lowest point of the blaster is at least 120 cm from the ground.
  3. Do not forget about external factors that can affect the range (strength and direction of wind, rain, snow, etc.).
  4. Check the condition of the arrows. They should be without creases, bruises.
  5. If you want to achieve the maximum range of your automatic blaster, be sure to install new batteries.

27. What is the difference between NERF Elite 2.0 and NERF Elite blasters?

The NERF Elite 2. 0 series is, as the name suggests, an update to the stellar N-Strike Elite series of blasters.
The first N-Strike Elite series blasters appeared in 2012, so the emergence of a spiritual successor is overdue.
Series 2.0 blasters have excellent ergonomics and a catchy design. They develop good characteristics, taking full advantage of the numerous possibilities for modifications.
One of the features of the blasters of the series is the presence of tactical straps even in compact blasters.
Another major advantage of the series is the arrows. First, the blasters use standard Nerf darts, which fit all blasters that use standard Nerf darts.
And secondly, they come with a double set of arrows in two colors. You do not need to buy additional arrows - you get them when you buy a blaster.

28. What does "ECO packaging" mean in the description of some products on the site?

Genuine Hasbro products are currently available in two types of packaging: colored and ECO - eco-friendly, paint-free and 100% recyclable.

29. Bought the first automatic blaster - Nerf Modulus ESC-10. How to shoot from it?

The most important thing when firing automatic blasters: By pulling the first trigger (the trigger that starts the engine), give the flywheels time to gain momentum. To do this, before you make the first shot, hold it for at least 2 seconds. After that, you can shoot - press the second trigger.
After firing, the blaster needs another fraction of a second to regain full power. Therefore, make a minimum pause between shots.
This rule applies to all Nerf automatic blasters: Stryfe, Phoenix, One, Turbine, AMP, Focus, AR-L, B-AR, Pulse Laser, IR, Rex-Rampage, etc.

Doom General Discussions

In collectibles menu we can watch doomguy in suit in detail. Also we can see his face through the mask, but there are many lights on the mask itself and many details are covered. Is there any way to see his face without helmet at all? I'd like to compare it with faces of doomguy 1-2 and doomguy 3.

In the search window on planets / stations, hotkeys for switching to other "dialog" windows, such as a government building and a hangar, do not work. And then the buttons pressed are found in the last highlighted search bar.
The sequence of actions for playback is simple:
0. Land on a friendly planet
1. Open the search box
2. Select the search string
3. Enter something there, for example "kargas"
4. Press the "search" button
5. Carefully remember where the nearest "kargas" is located
6. Try to press the "h" button on the keyboard to exit the hangar, then "a", "b" and "f" in order to recover, refuel, and fly off the planet, respectively
7. Perplexed that nothing worked, curse, close the search results window with the mouse (or switch to the news tab)
8. Open the search window again
9. Observe in the line search "kargashabf"

The same is observed if you search not from the main window, but from some subcategory, for example, "engines". When opening a subcategory, the input line for the engine speed is automatically selected, some necessary number is entered there (for example, 1000), the search button (suitable engines) is pressed, and then the hotkeys do not work again until the search window is closed.

For those who play exclusively with the mouse - an absolutely imperceptible bug, and for the rest it is also not very critical, but still quite unpleasant for keyboard chord lovers. =3

Give me a save, it will be easier to understand what you don't like than from screenshots.

Although it should be clear from the screenshots. The damage of the cannon is one, and when aiming at the ship another one is shown, although there are no modifiers. At least a multiresonator, at least any of the rocket launchers can be installed. If there are several guns, several incorrect values \u200b\u200bare summed up there and an even more incorrect one is obtained, but on one gun it is simply more visual.

Acrine gives you a bonus to attack, and therefore displays more than "pure" weapon damage.

But no. I don’t have bonuses for damage, but on the contrary, I have a minus for attack, it’s clear that the attack skill is reduced.
In addition, the same is observed without acrine at all. For the purity of the experiment - also without artifacts (except, in fact, the cache itself):

Yes, there are no diseases/stimulants at the time of these screenshots either.

Weapon damage is 19-32 but displays 19-42.
In addition, this is a rocket launcher, it fires three rockets, not one, the damage seems to be more (like 57-96).
I have not tested with other weapons yet, as soon as non-missile weapons appear on board, I'll take a look.

UPD: Flux blaster 13-52 (without any upgrades) appears as 13-64.

I'm currently campaigning for pirates. The mission where you need to kill the pirate "Makarov" on the planet, Mr. "Shu" is given as an assistant. So, when choosing a way to land on the planet and fight Makarov yourself, the game goes into a black screen and freezes. Perhaps this is due to the fact that since the beginning of the game I have disabled missions where you need to fight on planets (planetary battles).

Yes, it looks like it. If you sit down yourself, then you need to go through a planetary battle (IMHO, simple).

Cheats are now disabled in planetary battles.

Cheats? And what, were there cheats on the PB, except for the crazybot? =)

Oh my God! What stupid robots! Just awful! Why can't they stand still, and as soon as they see the enemy, they take off, like a mongrel behind a car?!

By the way, yes. why is there no such banal button as "hold position"? Why do clean repairmen rush into the midst of enemies when they should be standing behind and repairing the front ranks?

No, it's a feature since KR2.

Okay. I remember the feature, but you never know now it can be attributed to the category of bugs. I'll keep looking. =)

Is it considered a bug that if you fly into the hole to Keller while he himself is attacking the system, then there is a bunch of hyperspace pirates in it, although the hole itself does not lead anywhere, but throws it back under Keller's nose? =) As for me, this is somewhat illogical.

Space Rangers HD: A War Apart General Discussions (English)

Yes, we need to bring statistics on diseases. Otherwise, I almost always have a bearing, but in all my practice of playing KR2 with Chekumash, I got sick once. But diapers - as much as you like.

Quest "doomino", location with an explanation of the rules of the game. "At the same time, another number on the plate becomes 'extreme'."
IMHO, fu make such mistakes at all, and the authors should be shot on the spot, but here we only have reports, not the dungeons of Dzuhallag, so it would be nice to fix it =)
Further, in the same quest, it is quite possible that the the number 0 is found, which clearly corresponds to a real domino, but nothing is said about 0 in the quest task ("plates from 1=1 to 6=6"), and it falls out extremely rarely, which is certainly not true.

As far as I remember, from other systems. And not only Kelleroids can appear.

Well, yes, it's the old fashioned way, but for this you need to leave the pirates, gain a rank, then come back ... But it would be logical that way.
However, it is not critical. By the way, we need to see if these hulls have 15 armor left, or were they cut like the rest to 8.

And, before I forget, a small bug: in the Master of Iike-Baana quest there is a cave with three "tests", in one of the tests there are 5 bowls with flames of different colors. After passing the test (probably only after an unsuccessful one, but I'm not sure exactly), the inscription about the violet flame remains hanging in the list of displayed parameters until the end or until the quest is restarted.

There is a task for the delivery of synodisks with video recordings. When you hover over an object in the hold, the "activate" window appears, in the original version, a crash movie should have been played. A small piece of sound is also played here, but there is no video at all. Save immediately after receiving the task: yadi(dot)sk/d/XwlRnTAl602r0

Space Rangers HD: A War Apart General Discussions (English)

Speaking of hulls. To get a unique hull, there is an item "rank not lower than Ace". Is a similar pirate rank considered? If not, then why is it not considered at least for the pirate corps?

Space Rangers HD: A War Apart General Discussions (English)

The game crashes at the end of the "training" planetary battle (after pressing the "ok" button in the results window).
I checked the local cache, one broken file was found, fixed, but when I tried to complete the mission again, the crash occurred again.
What logs and/or additional information should be attached to the problem description?
There is no regular Errors folder in the game folder (no other errors were observed, apparently not created), there are no logs from there, respectively.
