Why do you need to know what is the rate of consumption of materials for rubber coating? To understand the total cost of the object, keeping the exact proportions, without which it is impossible to achieve a good result. Knowing the consumption rate will help you not fall for the trick of low prices, behind which lies savings on components, leading to rapid wear of the crumb coating.
The basic component is rubber crumb, which has about 80% of the total coverage. Granules can have a different fraction, color and quality of processing.
It is no secret that the creation of crumbs is based on the processing of recyclable materials, in particular, tires. Unusable tires remain a mine of rubber, all you need is specialized production equipment. The process itself is quite simple, but unscrupulous suppliers decide to save even on cleaning. nine0003
VESTA MS produces crumb rubber on its own, only in this way it is possible to achieve complete control of the process and be sure of the quality of raw materials. There are no signs of poor cleaning, rubber crumb is produced without third-party impurities and inclusions that worsen the structure, surface uniformity and performance.
The consumption rate of materials is commensurate with the size of the granules, the larger the size of the crumb, the smaller the volume required. For a square meter of coating of millimeter thickness, you will need 700-1200 grams of material. It is easy to calculate that for standard 10 mm, from 7 to 12 kg of rubber per square will come out. nine0003
In addition to the crumbs, the composition includes pigments that give the initially nondescript granules different colors. Material consumption rates must be strictly adhered to, for this, a weighing procedure follows before each batch of components.
For 1 m² of seamless coating, about 150-250 grams of pigment is needed. A slight discrepancy in grams will give a change in the tone of an individual piece in the overall picture of the area.
Polyurethane glue connects disparate components into a single whole. The correct amount of binder is just as important as its quality. The coating will come out too soft and not durable with an excess of glue, but this rarely happens. nine0003
Savings are much more common, as a result of which the rubber crumb is not completely enveloped in the composition. As a result, the adhesion of particles is reduced, followed by chipping of entire surface areas.
Glue according to the consumption rate of the material needs 1.8-2 kg per 1 m² of coating 10 mm thick. Also, 300 grams of binder and 300 grams of solvent should be included in the consumption for preliminary priming of the base.
Savings are much more common, as a result of which the rubber crumb is not completely enveloped in the composition. As a result, the adhesion of particles is reduced, followed by chipping of entire surface areas. nine0003
The consumption rates of materials are prescribed in the technology for a seamless rubber crumb coating. Adhering to the correct proportions is vital, because they guarantee the longevity of operation. The rubber carpet is maintainable, but no one needs extra expenses. Turning to the construction company VESTA MS, you can be sure that the ordered coating will last more than 10 years. Technical supervision will not find violations in the work of our teams, which have rich practice and know the material consumption rates exactly. Special stacker, pneumatic gun or manual stacking - the installation will be carried out as correctly and professionally as possible. nine0003
Own production gives an advantage in price, which is not affected by the mark-ups of intermediaries. Therefore, the company can offer a favorable price for the installation of a rubber coating without saving on components.

Russian roads can become dozens of times better and. .. cheaper. Another Russian invention is once again being introduced not in Russia
As long as we don’t have private roads, as long as the budget allocates money for roads, the mafia will feed on them
N unknown the genius who invented the wheel many thousands of years ago did not even imagine what this wheel would turn out to be for posterity. And it turned into a headache for governments, tantrums of environmentalists and mountains, heaps of waste tires. They have nowhere to go! And there are hundreds of millions of them, and every year tens of millions of cars, buses, trucks, trolleybuses, motorcycles and mining trucks produce millions of new ... sorry, old tires. nine0003
A car tire is one of the most inconvenient items to recycle. The main problem is how to pull the cord out of the tire - metal and textile. Therefore, in many countries, a person who takes used tires to a landfill pays a certain amount for this - as for warehousing. After all, most likely, these tires will remain in the landfill until the end of the century.
No, of course, they try to use them, recycle them... They hang them on the sides of tugboats in ports - for depreciation in case of a collision with a pier. nine0003
They paint yellow and plant flower beds in big tires.
They dig halfway into the ground, and it turns out, as it were, a decorative fence.
Chopped. They are mechanically shredded into crumbs along with metal cord wire (which, by the way, makes knives and cutters dull very quickly). The metal is then removed with magnets. It turns out not very well, because if a piece of rubber remains on a piece of wire, it will fly away along with the wire stump. It is generally impossible to separate textile cord from rubber in this way. nine0003
Freeze. This is called the cryogenic method. The tire is doused with liquid nitrogen, and it freezes to a glassy state. After that, the fragile tire is split into small fragments (by the way, they turn out to be sharp, really like glass fragments). Further it is known: the wire is separated by a magnet, the rubber crumb is poured into the bunker. This is a much better separation method, but, as you understand, it is very expensive - about a kilogram of liquid nitrogen is needed per kilogram of a tire. However, despite the high cost, cryogenic tire recycling plants are being built all over the world. Because the problem with tires somehow needs to be solved! The main thing here is to separate the tire, because the destroyed tire is already a valuable commodity: the metal cord is remelted, and the rubber powder... Paradoxically, this is also a fully used product. nine0003
First, rubber powder from recycled tires is added to the molding compound when new tires are made. Up to 10% of the powder is added in the production of passenger tires and up to 60% in the production of truck and bicycle tires...
Secondly, rubber powder can be mixed into asphalt during road construction. At the same time, the roadbed turns out to be a little more elastic, so it cracks less during temperature changes and lasts much longer. In the USA, it is even legally established that crumb rubber must be added to bituminous mixtures. Moreover, since a ton of ordinary bitumen costs $38, and modified with rubber crumb is about $50, the government pays the road builders this difference. It is beneficial for him: the gain is obtained in the future from savings on repair work. nine0003
Thirdly, crumb rubber is added to plastics to create a new type of material - thermoplastic elastomers that combine the advantages of plastic and rubber: they stretch like rubber and are recyclable like plastic. These materials have a great future.
The world was in such a sad state by the beginning of the 1990s, when the physicists of one of the "boxes" were given the task of extracting solid fuel from rockets that had served their time. Scientists knew that ozone was good at destroying rubber, and since solid fuel was mixed with rubber, they proposed using ozone technology to reload rockets. Accurately in the process of its development, the domestic defense industry died a long time, and physicists, preoccupied with the search for daily bread, decided to convert their idea. nine0003
- Why not solve the problem of tires with the help of ozone, we thought, - says one of the authors of the technology Evgeny DONSHCHIKOV. - And by 1995 we had already created a decently working installation. And most importantly, it was cheap: ozonizers - devices for the production of ozone - are widely known and very common in device technology. With the help of ozone, for example, water is disinfected in urban water supply systems, in some pools, because ozone is much safer than chlorine ... In general, the ozone technology for destroying tires is environmentally flawless - a tire enters the installation, after half an hour a bunch of rubber powder, textile material remains from it and steel cord rings. Cheap and cheerful... No heating, no harmful emissions. nine0003
...When the technology was worked out, a painful search began for investors who would invest in the design of not experimental, but industrial equipment and the construction of the first plant. Such people have been found.
- Then we almost bought a Canadian cryogenic plant on a turnkey basis, but, fortunately, we found out about this domestic development in time, - says Natalya TUMANOVA, a representative of the company that drew attention to the new technology. - The fact is that we have long been interested in rubber. Few people know, but the rubber market is the second in the world after the oil market in terms of capital. At the same time, rubber is considered a non-recyclable material. Rubber is like an egg: once cooked - you can't make scrambled eggs. Vulcanized - you can't vulcanize back. Therefore, the reserves of vulcanized rubber in the world are colossal. It's not just tires. These are conveyor belts that are a foot thick, and inside they have steel cables. Moreover, if the tires are still at the very least, albeit in a meager amount, but are recycled, then with conveyor belts there are generally seams. The system there is as follows: an enterprise that produces conveyor belts takes the old belts from the consumer and stores them in its warehouse. Forever. Because you can’t do anything with them: there is no processing technology. nine0003
... A couple of years after the first acquaintance of physicists with financiers, the project of an industrial installation was completed in metal. Agitated concessionaires gathered around and began to throw tires inside the humming monster, terrified of some kind of failure or breakdown. But the mechanism, completely invented, designed and even made in Russia, for some reason did not break. Worked and worked, worked and worked. Of course it's amazing. It's time to cry ... They say that they didn't cry, although I suspect that they shed a little: after all, years of work. Likewise, Kurchatov probably shed a tear when the product worked...
It's time to build the plant. Russia, as the place of its deployment, fell away immediately for two reasons. The first reason is taxes, the second one will be discussed below... Having analyzed the world situation, the concessionaires were convinced that the most favorable situation for business development is in Thailand. In the Thai government, the project passed an examination, was recognized as environmentally friendly (freeing nature from garbage deposits in the form of tires) and “green” (that is, it does not pollute the environment in the process of fighting garbage). For this enterprise was completely exempted from taxes for 8 years, and for the next five years it was exempted from them by half. nine0003
- Has environmentally conscious Europe offered less favorable terms?
- Imagine. At first we wanted to build a factory in England. There they gave us land for free and promised to carry out all the work on registration of the company free of charge, and it costs decent money for them - about half a million dollars. But after the construction and launch, there are no tax benefits, ordinary English taxes. And most importantly, we didn’t have our own six million dollars to build a plant, and it’s simply unrealistic to get a loan from an English bank for a foreigner for a new technology that has not yet been tested by the industry . .. Now we have a contract with Belarusians. Suddenly, the Balts started up, they have accumulated a lot of these tires, and the country is small, joining the EU, and in connection with this, more attention should be paid to the environment...
- Wait, is your crumb better or worse than the one obtained in the usual way?
- You are not the first with your doubts. We've often been told that since your rubber powder is ozone-treated, its particles are surface-active, and therefore the powder should not be added to the mixture for new tires - they will actively break down. This version was checked by Professor Tutorsky from the Institute of Fine Chemical Technology. As a result of research, it turned out along the way that for some time after treatment with ozone, the crumb does indeed have some kind of surface activity. And this is very good! The fact is that Americans have long been busy with the problem of how to make crumb rubber surface-active, for this they process it with different gases. They spent $6 million on these studies. Yes, we built a whole plant for this money! And we get this active baby without any special treatment - by itself. For nothing! nine0003
It turned out that if the crumb has an active surface, then when added to plastic, it combines with it not only mechanically, but also chemically. Now thermoplastic elastomers, due to the complex production technology, are insanely expensive - about $ 6 per kilogram. And the active rubber crumb allows you to reduce their cost by almost an order of magnitude. Therefore, by the way, we immediately installed extruders for the production of thermoplastic elastomers at the Thai plant in order to immediately use the fresh, surface-active crumb. nine0003
By the way, due to the fact that the crumb is surface-active, it behaves in a completely different way in rubber compounds - tests at Belshina showed that our crumb can be added to the mixture four times more than usual. And this means that the cost of finished products - tires - is greatly reduced. Upon learning of this, the Belarusians immediately issued a loan for the construction of the plant.
- In short, you are going to build factories everywhere except Russia. Why? And is it just taxes?
As the reader has already understood from the question, not only... A few years ago, inventors tried to stick their heads out with proposals for adding crumb rubber to the roadbed. But gloomy people gently advised them not to climb where it is dangerous to climb. The fact is that most of the funds allocated from the budget to road builders go not to build new roads, but to repair old ones. And, as you know, all over the world, construction and garbage collection are the two most criminalized areas of human activity from the legal ones: it is most convenient to hide the amount of work and launder money there. If the roads deteriorate less frequently, on the scale of Moscow alone, appropriations for their repair will be reduced by several million dollars. For that kind of money, anyone's head will be torn off.
