Production technology
1. Tire preparation
If the tire is visibly dirty, it should be washed and dried. When performing these operations, tire damage that is incompatible with further tire retreading may already be detected.
2. Tire inspection and cord diagnostics
At this stage, frameworks suitable and not suitable for restoration are identified. The check takes place visually and is subdivided into:

At this stage, damage incompatible with further repair can be visually identified. Foreign objects (pebbles, nails, chips) are removed. If the tire has passed the test, then it is sent to the next stage. Damage that can be repaired is marked. At this stage, tires can be sorted by type and size to save time on setting up machines in the following stages.
3. Roughening-detreading
Roughing (removing) the remains of the old worn tread. The buffing machine gives the carcass the shape, size and texture needed to apply the new tread. The principle of operation of this device is similar to the operation of a lathe. The frame is fastened in a special clamp, inflated with air, untwisted. A powerful roughing crown gradually removes the remnants of the old tread. Processing occurs to a perfectly round surface for better contact with the new tread. The protector is removed according to the specified profile, width and radius parameters. The data is stored in the computer of this machine and depends on the dimensions of the tire, the type of retreading. The roughening process consists of several steps:
Mounting the carcass in the machine.
Determining the roughening radius.
Roughening.
Control measurement of parameters.
4. Frame repair
If defects and damages are found (cuts, punctures...), they are repaired. The tire is installed on special machines, where the worker makes external and internal repairs. External damage is developed, cleaned, through punctures are sealed from the inside. Repairs are made with electric or pneumatic tools.
5. Tire preparation for tread tape application
After removing the tread and under-tread, which consists of obsolete rubber, this layer must also be restored. A new intermediate layer of material is needed that will establish firm contact between the old carcass and the new tread band. The tread part of the frame is primed with liquid rubber. The shells turned during the repair are filled with raw rubber using a manual extruder. The tread is covered with a layer of raw rubber tape, made on the basis of natural rubber, which provides reliable adhesion during vulcanization.
6. Preparing the tread tire and applying it to the prepared tire
The tread tape is cut to the required length.
The tread band joint is being prepared.
The frame is clamped in a special machine. It is inflated to a certain pressure, and a new protector (in the form of a tape) is applied and pressed in a special way. Temporarily fixed with special brackets to prevent displacement in the following stages.
7. Putting the tire in the envelope and putting on the rim-rim
The tire is placed in a device (two paired machines), which puts a special envelope on it, and inside the tube and rims. This is necessary for pumping out air and a snug fit between the carcass and tread. After the frame, completely ready for vulcanization, is placed on a special. conveyor through which the product goes to the next stage. Therefore, the vulcanized tires are unloaded to the conveyor on the other side.
8. Vulcanization
The vulcanization process takes place in a special autoclave at the exact ratio of time, temperature and pressure. All process parameters are set by the operator. The prepared frames are placed in an autoclave and at the same time connected to a vacuum pump, which pumps air out of the tank. In the “barrel” of the autoclave, a high pressure of at least 6 bar is created. Due to this, the tread is pressed into the carcass, and the temperature enhances the effect of chemical adhesion. Raw rubber is vulcanized. The carcass becomes one with the new tread.
9. Removing the rim, tube, sleeve
Tires are unloaded from the autoclave using the same conveyor. A new batch of vulcanized tires is immediately loaded. The tires that come out of the autoclave are used to dismantle the chamber, rim-disk and envelope.
10. Final stage-inspection
After unloading a batch of tires from the autoclave, while the tire is hot, a visual check is carried out. If there were any undetected defects in the tire, restoration omissions, they are clearly manifested at this stage. When completing the line with a stand for testing retreaded tires under pressure, retreaded tires are placed in it, inspected and a warranty certificate is issued.
