Introduction

Having a mountain bike is fun because you are able to ride your bike in any kind of terrain. But what happens when you get a flat tire? Before starting this guide, be sure to have a 8” Pittsburgh wrench and a new 24” inner tube. in order to complete the replacement of the tire on your 24” Mongoose mountain bike.

This guide will guide you step by step on how to replace a front flat tire on a 24” Mongoose mountain bike in 40 min or less. I recommend using some type of gloves when attempting this guide because some parts of the wheel can get your fingers pinched.

    • Before removing the tire from the rim. Unscrew the air nuzzle cap so that it can go through the rim hole.

    • To unscrew the nuzzle cap, turn the cap counterclockwise.

    Edit

    • From the side where the air nuzzle is at, begin separating the tire from the rim by folding the tire so that you can pop it out of the rim.

    Edit

    • Insert the new 24"inner tube in the tire crease.

    • Make sure the new inner tube is sitting comfortably inside the tire.

    Edit

    • Insert the air nuzzle through the rim hole and then attach the tire to the rim by folding the tire into the rim.

Introduction

This guide will help you correctly replace a damaged inner tube in your Mongoose 20'' BMX.

  • Smart Wrench

  1. Edit

    • Using the wrench, loosen the bolts shown by placing the wrench on the bolt so that it is on tight and rotate counterclockwise. It may be hard at first, but as the bolt loosens it will get easier.

    • Now that the bolts are loose you may remove the wheel from the bike.

    • You may remove the bolts and washers, but this is not necessary to complete the replacement.

    Edit

    • Wedge a screwdriver between the tire and the rim to pry it over the tire over the rim as shown. Part of the tire should now be on top of the rim.

    Edit

    • Use a second screwdriver and repeat step 3 to create a four to six inch lip where the tire overlaps the rim.

    Edit

    • Place your fingers in between where the tire is already overlapping the rim and pry out the rest of the tire so that the whole tire overlaps the rim.

    Edit

    • Beginning with the nozzle, remove the damaged inner tube by pulling it out from in between the tire and the rim. Continue to pull out the rest of the tube.

    Edit

    • To put the new tube in the tire, begin by wedging the tube in between the tire and the rim. Make sure that you start with pushing the nozzle through the hole in the rim as shown. Then, continue to push the rest of the tube through the gap between the tire and the rim until the tube is no longer visible.

    • If the inner tube has a cap over the nozzle you'll have to remove it before you can pull it out of the rim. Just use your fingers to rotate the cap counterclockwise until it comes off.

    Edit

    • Now just wedge the tire back in between the edges of the rim so that it is back to it's original position. Then place the tire back on the fork and tighten it.

    • Make sure you do all this before pumping up the tire because the tire will not fit in between the brake pads if it's fully inflated.

Please tell me: can you put wheels with different wear on one axle? Thank you.

Do not put two wheels on the same axle at the same time. On tricycles, the difference will be, but not very noticeable, just the bike will turn slightly towards the wheels with more wear / smaller diameter. If one axle is inserted into two different bushings of different wear, then it will simply rub in at different speeds.

they could put wheels with different wear on one axle

You can't put two wheels on one axle. On tricycles, the difference will be, but not very noticeable, just the bike will turn slightly towards the wheels with more wear / smaller diameter.

04-04-2010 14:37:42

why doesn't the bike shift from 2 to 3 speed?

Switch setting required. Rear or front - depending on where it does not switch. In sad cases, replacement stars are required.

03-04-2010 16:29:17

How to put the rear wheel on the bike Mongoose Rockadile AL

Turns the bike over. Pull the switch chain. Insert the wheels into the dropouts, lower the chain into place. Tighten the eccentric. All. The same procedure applies to any other bicycle with quick-release gears.

03-04-2010 14:43:03

I'm going to replace my original BMX sprocket with a smaller one, what about the chain? buy a new one? Or shorten the old one?

If the teeth remain the same, just shorten the old one. If it is not locked, then you will need a squeeze for the chain - /viewart/veloaddon/zp2171.htm .

How to use speeds on a bike Stels Navigator 770

All rules are listed in the instructions for the bike. The basic rules are simple - the right shifter switches the rear gears, the left shifts the forward gears. Gears should only be changed while driving. All gears shift with a click, but when shifting the chain to a larger front sprocket, (button under the left thumb) the shift must be pressed until the shift has occurred. The chain must not be skewed, otherwise the stars and the chain will quickly wear out.

My bike is 5 years old (Stels challenger). may be.

Bushings worn out, sprockets worn out, chain worn out, bearings worn out... There are too many possible reasons - the bike needs to be shown to the mechanics.

Please tell me how to attach the rear and front fenders to the bike ``Stels Navigator ``530``

On the initial Stels Navigator, the front fender is attached to the fork plug or with a screw and nut into the hole on the fork bridge. The rear wing is fastened with a screw and nut into the hole on the top stays.

please tell me! I have a NORDWAY ROCK MOUNTAIN BIKE and I bent the rear wheel and it is no longer possible to restore it 100% what rim can I buy and what is better just a rim or a complete wheel?

Wheel assembly - 1000-1500 rub. You can buy and assemble it separately, but knitting a wheel (and your spokes are probably also bent) is a very long and dreary task that requires a good skill. If you order this work to the master, it will be even more expensive. Factory spokes are the cheapest.

I bought a bike from you /view/velo/1876.htm Meridia Mats 40D disassembled. I collected everything and set it up .. but for some reason the plug does not work. What could be? The switch is in working condition.

Maybe it's just frozen, maybe the blocker is stuck. It's hard to say - this has never happened before. Bring it to our mechanics - they'll take a look.

How can I remove the ratchet without a ratchet puller?

Same as unscrewing a nut without a wrench. No way.

what is the name of the rear wheel bearing and how to replace it?

Simply remove the bearing and measure - if the bearing is loose, then the ball diameter and quantity. If in a cage or industrial - bearing diameter, ball / cylinder diameter, quantity. Provide these data in the store and you can easily pick up a new bearing.

My question is this. When jumping, he broke the rear axle on the stealth challenger. I took everything apart and bought a new one exactly the same, even the color is the same, but I can’t deliver. I collect everything, it seems, correctly, and I will pass 1-2 meters, it either tightens or unscrews. I don't understand what it is. Tell me what to do if anyone can post photos.

It is very important not to over-tighten or under-tighten. Look for the golden mean or bring it to our mechanics.

how to detach the rear sprockets from the sleeve on the track? (track 3 series)

For this you need a ratchet puller. For example, this one - /viewart/veloaddon/zp1789.htm .

how to change the rear wheel bearing???

Disassemble the bushing. Take out the old bearing. Install / fill in a new bearing. Lubricate. Collect. All.

is there a wrench for Shimano cartridge installation

Universal wrenches. Search the site for the combination "Carriage-cartridge puller".

I have matts 40-d, I drove many times in winter, the fork travel is blocked at -2 and below degrees outside. it is dangerous?

The elastomer in the spring forks hardens at low temperatures. The fork just stops working, becomes stiff. It will freeze back in the spring, no big deal. )

I have a Stark - Router bike. The carriage flew off. Which of the ones provided in your store will fit my bike model?

Carriages - universal. If you want to install a cartridge to work longer and softer, then you need to know exactly the dimensions of the seat - diameter and width.

how do I disassemble the hub on the rear wheel

Use the instructions on the website of your hub manufacturer or contact the mechanics in our stores.

Do you provide bicycle services?

Our stores have repairmen. When buying a bike from us, you are entitled to one free bike maintenance - tuning / tightening. All other work on bicycles can also be done in our stores, but for a fee. Warranty cases are considered separately.

Mongooose Tyax COMP bicycle (2013) - “My best friend - Mongoose SUV”

mongoose TYAXE TYAXE 2013 in April 2014 in the Trial-Sport store. The consultant girl strongly recommended this particular model to me out of all. And not in vain! At a discount, it cost me only 16 210 rubles . (size M) With such characteristics and at such a price, I would not have found a bike anywhere else. Then it cost 20 262 rubles .

I am very happy that I bought it! This is a profitable investment. In terms of health, figure and leisure.

To be honest, I am not versed in technology and cannot describe the technical side of this model. But I think for this price category is quite a decent bike! My male friend and cyclist approved of my purchase when I showed him. The tire pattern is interesting - it provides good rolling, as my friends told me.

Tire pattern

I ride on asphalt, on country roads, and on rocky ones. In the mountains and in the city. And even in the snow a couple of times in winter. That is, I do not limit myself in terms of road coverage than one. The brakes work very well, soft and smooth. I checked when, on the descent from the mountain, a man "rushed" under the wheels). For me, the bike is not too heavy, I lift it easily when necessary. In general, I feel very comfortable driving this vehicle. For 3 years of driving on Mongoose Tyax Comp got used to it so much that I don't want another bike.

No fenders, footrest, trunk - I don't need them. If needed, I will install.

I love cycling, preferably outside the city and for long distances - at least 30 km. I plan to drive a hundred somehow. I'm sure my Mangus can handle it.

Features:

- White seat. At first it seemed very tough! . I wanted to change to a softer one. But then I got used to it. Now I can't imagine any other. Easy to wash! )

White seat

- Grips . Leave strong imprints on the hand. I only wear gloves.

- 27 speed . I quickly realized the benefits of a large number of speeds riding in the mountains, where there are frequent ups and downs.

- thanks to mechanical disc brakes and cams , it is easy for a girl to remove and install the wheels in order to change the tube. I have learned how to do this online.

Replacing the camera

The longest and hardest, but very interesting and beautiful route I had was to Zheleznovodsk through Mount Beshtau along the ring road (from Pyatigorsk). Its length is 50 km (from house to house). Weekend trip.
I like to ride around our lake and swim in it at the same time:

I recommend bikes from the American brand Mongoose! They are not as well known in Russia as Cube, Merida or others, but no worse than them.
