Hercules - about the brand, the history of Goodyear tires. Official website of the tire Hercules

In the famous myth, Atlant did not fulfill his promise, did not want to take the burden back from Hercules when he returned with the promised apples. Hercules was frightened, but keeping his seeming calm, he told Atlas that he was okay with the situation, but first he wanted to ask Atlas to take the weight off his shoulders for a moment so he could position him more comfortably. Atlas agreed, and heaven remained on his back forever. nine0006

The history of Hercules Tire also begins with Atlas, and in fact with Atlas Rubber, operating in Stamford, Connecticut, in the USA. In 1950, a group of East Coast investors who would later form the Hercules brand partnered with Atlas Rubber. For several years, AR plants produced tires that the growing company, originally called Treadway, distributed in the southeastern states. It was the first distribution group to operate on this scale in the US. Unlike the Greek legend, the agreement between Atlas and Hercules was possible without deceit. nine0006

The client is the king

The name Hercules first appears in this story in the late 50s. In 1960, the company was officially renamed Hercules Tires, and the first novelty under the new name was a contract with Cooper Tires, which began to produce a line of tires specifically for Hercules. At 19In 1966, the company moved its headquarters to Findlay, Ohio, where the first factory was opened. This was another step towards further expansion, which was due to the creation in 1967 of a new branch of the company - Hercules Tire International. This subsidiary quickly established a partnership with the Belgian brand Uniroyal, whose tires entered the American market through Hercules Tire International. As the early bosses of Hercules mentioned, their motto was "The customer is king" ("The customer is king", known to us in the more familiar form "the customer is always right"). That is why, in addition to their products, they wanted to present their customers with the widest possible offer. nine0006

In 1973, Hercules became one of the first distributors of Japanese Toyo tires in the USA.

The tire manufacturing process in Hercules was so old. Mission of Hercules - the plant was rebuilt in six months.

In the late seventies and eighties the company expanded its factories and warehouses in Findlay to several thousand square meters. Further development was halted by a serious factory fire in 1981. Although it occupied a significant part of the industrial area, in just six months the company restored it and returned to production on a large scale. The title is binding, after all. nine0006

Two million years ago, Joseph Rousseau, who led Hercules Tire & Rubber from 1971-1989, had great merit in developing the brand's business. Under his leadership, the company began importing tires from Asia, and in 1987 launched a massive Tire Dealer Warehouse program, a tire wholesale network that now covers all of North America. Under the slogan "From coast to coast" (from coast to coast, that is, from Los Angeles to New York), TDW offers tires not only of the Hercules brand or its brands: Merit, Ironman, Road Force, but also: Yokohama, Falken, Kumho, Nexen or Super Express. The company's branches are located in several US states, including Texas (as many as three - in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas), as well as in Ohio, Oregon and Florida. nine0006
