5 & New Generation Console Update - Changelog

Patch 1.5 is coming soon to PC, Stadia and consoles!

It makes various improvements, fixes a number of bugs in missions and gameplay, and adds free additional content. In addition, the patch includes a version for next-generation consoles - Cyberpunk 2077 can now fully utilize the additional power of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation®5.

Here's what awaits players on different platforms:

The main changes that this patch brings are listed below.

NEW GEN CONSOLE CHANGES

  • Added raytraced local shadows.
  • Implemented native support for achievements on next generation consoles. The PlayStation®5 version is a standalone product and therefore backwards compatibility trophies cannot be carried over. Xbox achievements will be automatically transferred to the new version using Smart Delivery technology.
  • Added two graphics modes on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X: performance mode and ray tracing mode.
  • Performance mode guarantees smooth gaming at 60 fps with dynamic 4K resolution.
  • Ray tracing mode provides photorealistic shadows, as well as 30 frames per second and dynamic 4K resolution.
  • Xbox Series S does not have graphics mode selection. By default, the game on this console runs at 30fps in 1440p dynamic resolution.
  • Performance has been improved, resulting in much lower framerate drops and improved rendering quality.
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR) balanced for consistency across all platforms.
  • Multiple visual improvements have been made.
  • Implemented support for PlayStation®5 controller adaptive triggers.
  • Haptic feedback now changes depending on what is happening in the game.
  • The controller's built-in speaker is used for video calls, text messages, and everything else going on in V's head.
  • Event cards for PlayStation®5 have been added.
  • Implemented support for surround sound on PlayStation®5 when using headphones with 3D sound and the TV's built-in speakers. Support is based on PS5 Tempest 3D AudioTech technology.

Apartments

  • You can now rent apartments (for a one-time payment) found in Night City or on the ABC of Housing website (only available from the computer in V's apartment in Megatower h20). The apartments will become available after completing the task " Eternal sleep. You can rent all the apartments at the same time, while they share a cache. In addition, by spending 10,000 €$ on the ABC of Housing website, you can equip Vee's standard apartment in the H10 megatower.

  • Some interaction options in apartments give V temporary buffs:
  • Take a shower - gives the state of "freshness" for one hour. "Freshness": allows you to restore health during combat. Health automatically regenerates up to 60% of your maximum health. If you have the Restoration ability, this condition increases your health regeneration by 20% and your health regen cap is increased by 20%.
  • Go to bed - gives a state of "vigor" for one hour and restores health. "Cheerfulness": skill experience + 20%.
  • Brew coffee - gives the "energetic" state for one hour. "Energy": Stamina + 25%, recovery + 30%.

Change of appearance

  • Now you can change individual elements of your appearance (hairstyle, make-up, piercing, etc.) by looking in the mirror in any of your apartments or shelters. This action is free and you can repeat it as many times as you like. In addition, new makeup and hairstyle options have been added to the character customization screen. LIVING CITY

Combat AI

  • Improved behavior and reactions of NPCs during melee and ranged combat. Now they are much better at using cover, changing positions, reloading, choosing weapons, dodging, blocking, etc.
  • A number of improvements have been made to dismemberment triggers, on-hit reactions and character death animations, which will add to the spectacle of melee and ranged combat.
  • Enemies are now much more active at blocking and dodging attacks (Kereznikov). The more powerful the weapon, the easier it is to hit the victim. In the case of evasion, the opposite is true.
  • Enemies' behavior in melee and ranged combat has become more diverse - depending on their faction, they show a tendency to rash actions, aggressiveness, rational behavior, defensive tactics and caution.
  • Vee's companions are now more active in battles, but after taking a certain amount of damage, they can be disabled and become temporarily out of action.
  • Improved the balance of netrunner battles.

Crowd behavior

  • Mob Aggression: Certain types of NPCs may engage V if provoked, such as aiming, shooting, or hitting them. Due to some technical limitations, this change is not available on previous generation consoles.
  • Waiting and skipping now affects the state of NPCs, and also returns the original state of devices, environments and some scenes.
  • Improved crowd reaction, pathfinding and disappearance rules.

Driving Model

  • Introducing the new "Ignition" mode! Turn it on by holding the gas and brake buttons, and turn the steering wheel, laying dashing turns and spins. The old system only allowed you to turn in one place - now try experimenting with the buttons to see the new possibilities! Burn tires, try normal and circular drifting, warm up tires for a drag racing style start. All this now works at higher speeds, so that most cars can be sent into a controlled skid by applying the brake and holding the gas at the entrance to the turn. For those who play the keyboard, there are new additional functions of the arrow keys (some keyboards ignore the third keystroke when using WASD). Gamepads and controllers are the best fit for this system (which is what most players prefer to use for driving).
  • The new braking system provides a stable reaction of the front and rear wheels of the car at all speeds. Added simulation of anti-lock braking system. The brakes of all vehicles have been adapted to the new model.
  • Improved engine simulation. Added clutch simulation. These changes improve engine resistance during gear changes and help eliminate unnecessary wheel spin.
  • Transmission simulation improved. Significantly improved downshift behavior. The gearbox now downshifts realistically, more logically resetting the engine to the optimum RPM. Shifting between forward and reverse gears has been completely redesigned, now you can perform a 180-degree reverse turn.
  • Improved motorcycle movement. All of the above improvements have increased their stability. We also improved the control model and reconfigured the settings.
  • Improved parameters of some cars. The Quadra Type 66 (all models, especially the Avenger), Mizutani Sion (especially the MZ2), Herrera Outlaw (major overhaul), and the base Maimai have improved handling and other features.
  • Changes made to the first person mode for all vehicles where it was required. In addition, nomad vehicles with Crystal Dome technology now digitally remove obstructions.

Car traffic on the streets

  • Significantly improved the movement of vehicles, namely their turning and stopping.
  • Added a panic reaction to the threat: cars now rush away from the source of danger. Passenger NPCs can die in an accident.
  • Vehicle response to light collisions has become more varied, resuming movement after collisions is now faster and smoother.

GAMEPLAY

Balance

  • A number of changes have been made to the economy, in particular, rewards for tasks and events in the open world have been increased. At the same time, prices for vehicles and cyber implants were reduced.
  • Changed the balance and improved the functions of clothing modifications. Changed the number of slots for modifications for clothing items. Mods are now divided into categories that are only suitable for certain items of clothing. As a result, all mods you installed have been removed and moved to equipment. You will need to install them again in accordance with the new rules.
  • Low difficulty will now be noticeably harder.
  • Instead of agility, 2 new stats are now used: damage compensation chance and compensation amount. Compensation Chance determines how often V can reduce damage taken. The amount of compensation determines the percentage by which the damage will be reduced (50% by default).
  • Components that used to improve maneuverability now affect compensation. These include, for example, the “Reaction” characteristic, the “Mongoose”, “Vanishing Point” and “Human Shield” abilities, some clothing modifications, cyber implants, etc. from burning, bleeding and poison.
  • Reduced the chance that Tiger Claws electronic tattoos can change the trajectory of smart bullets.
  • Added a quieter way to hide from the police during a pursuit. Instead of moving a certain distance from the last crime scene, V can hide in the search area. However, in this case, the police will look for V longer than usual.

Cyberimplants

  • Now you can sell unnecessary cyberimplants to reapers.
  • The description of the Cyberimplant "Blood Pump" now correctly indicates the cooldown duration.
  • You can now abort the "Give location" script. To do this, you need to damage the netrunner or gain immunity due to intrald.
  • Activating Berserk now doubles stamina instead of infinite.
  • Projectile launcher sleep ammo no longer affects non-human NPCs.
  • The number of ricochets when using the legendary ballistic co-processor has been reduced to 1, but now it gives 50% ricochet damage.
  • Trajectory Generator (Kiroshi's optics modification) is now called Threat Analyzer and gives a 2% chance of damage compensation. Compensation makes it possible to reduce damage taken by the amount of compensation (50% by default).
  • Increased the duration of V's Optical Cloak from 5/10/15 to 10/15/15 per rarity.
  • Some NPCs can now use optical cloaking.
  • Even with Optical Stealth enabled, V now becomes visible when grabbing an enemy.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some cyberimplant mods from being used at the same time.

Combat

  • Combat AI has been heavily optimized to improve the overall combat system.
  • Numerous fixes and improvements have been made to make NPC animations smoother and less interrupted during combat, including attack, death, weapon and cover use, hit reactions, reload, block, and dodge. The response to weapons and their mass impact should become more noticeable, and the battles themselves should be more spectacular.
  • Enemies now move better to take tactical advantage.
  • Increased the accuracy of firing of V satellites.
  • Reduced damage caused by explosions to V.
  • Fixed bugs due to which NPCs belonging to the same group or faction did not join the battle, which was fought nearby by their allies.
  • Fixed a bug due to which NPCs did not react properly when they were hit by a grenade at the beginning of the battle.
  • Enemies with shotguns will now try to get closer to V during combat.
  • Added several visual effects when enemies use combat stims.
  • Enemies will now only use combat stims if they are below 30% health. This should reduce the frequency of their use.
  • Increased the visual saturation of enemy behavior at low frame rates.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the transition to combat mode while walking.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed V to be knocked down with a hammer even when the weapon did not reach the target.
  • NPCs with melee and ranged combat will now switch between these modes much faster.

Scripts

  • Cyberpsychosis script no longer works against cyberpsychopaths.
  • Fixed a bug where disabling a camera with a quick hack did not interrupt the script being sent by an adversary when the camera was being used for a proxy connection.
  • Fixed an issue that caused V to permanently have the "Hacked" effect and prevent netrunners from hacking V again.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the "Whistling" script did not force NPCs to approach V.

Items and gadgets

  • Additional items from the stash (2 jackets + 4 registration rewards) have new functions:
  • The quality of these items will now increase after a certain number of upgrades.
  • Added basic documentation for crafting each item (rare quality). Player-accessible documentation lists in existing save files will be updated to reflect these changes.
  • Devices can now be turned on and off while carrying bodies.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the animation of the elevator doors did not always play properly and the player could see the space outside the level.

NPCs

  • Reduced the health of all enemies in the mission " Blood and Bone" , except for the twins - now they can block attacks and dodge them. The difficulty of fighting the twins will mainly depend on the skill of the player.
  • Dubman now prefers to use the same Ajax rifle that drops out of his hands after defeating him. At the same time, he was demoted from a "boss" to an ordinary opponent.
  • Fixed the behavior of NPCs in the battles with Sasquatch, Oda, Adam Smasher, Royce and bosses from the task " Blood and bone » .
  • Fixed a bug due to which enemies could not penetrate the V block in hand-to-hand combat.
  • Fixed issues with object overlap when V and NPCs eliminate enemies from the air.
  • Only the most nimble enemies can now spin and kick.
  • Equanimity XP is no longer awarded when killing enemies if V has no active Equanimity effects. At the same time, the more effects of "Equanimity" V has, the more relevant experience will bring the elimination of enemies.
  • Fixed issues with object overlap when V grabs an enemy from a sitting position.
  • Enemies with shotguns now deal more damage.
  • Enemies are now less likely to attack V if the player finishes the enemy (eg with a katana or praying mantis blades).
  • Increased damage dealt by sniper NPCs.
  • Snipers can now fire while backing away from a target.
  • V's companions no longer trip over bodies.
  • NPC stamina balance has been changed.
  • NPCs that are pinned down by vehicles and unable to get out will now die after a certain amount of time.
  • Fixed an issue with V's death animation playing if the player is currently grappling an enemy.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to give rewards to guards, bouncers, and cops.
  • Fixed bugs that sometimes caused NPCs to stand in a T-shaped pose.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented NPCs from applying effects.
  • Enemies using the Kerezniki ability have their health reduced by 15% to compensate for their resourcefulness.

Abilities

  • We have rebalanced a number of abilities and moved some of them on the tech tree. Therefore, the points you have invested in abilities have been reset. You will need to redistribute them.
  • The effects of the following abilities have been changed:
  • Resilience to Stress, Human Shield, Epimorphosis, Equanimity, Complete Calmness, and Outlaw.
  • A number of new abilities have been added to replace the old ones.
  • More Fun Together (Your damage is increased when you carry your body.) –> changes to -> Fortitude (Health regeneration is not interrupted even after being hit.) by 1.) –> changes to -> “Easy Prey” (Ranged weapon damage to enemies within 5 yards of Vee is increased by 10% (lvl. 1) or 20% (lvl. 2) when Equanimity is active .)

  • Due to these changes, we have renamed the Sneak tech tree to Ninjutsu to better reflect the abilities it contains.
  • Super Efficiency, Field Techniques, and State of the Art ability bonuses have become dynamic. Now they also affect previously created weapons and items of clothing. When replacing abilities, these bonuses disappear without error.

V's Behavior

  • V can now run through cracked glass (as well as climb, jump over it and jump over it while running).
  • Fixed a bug that caused V to be transported inside a wall or outside of a level when trying to put a body in a box.

Vehicles

  • Fixed a bug due to which summoned vehicles could appear one inside another and fall apart or fly into the air because of this.

Weapons

  • Reworked knife throwing system. Now knives do not disappear after each throw, but automatically return to V after a certain time (depending on the rarity of the knife). V can also pick up a thrown knife, resetting the cooldown.
  • The iconic Sting Knife now properly adjusts to V's level.
  • The speed of bullets for various types of smart weapons has been increased to the speed of bullets of G-58 "Dian" from "Kang Tao".
  • Silenced weapon sound range increased from 3m to 8m.
  • Melee weapon stat "Reduce stamina cost on attacks" now works as expected.
  • The Crunch, Cold Welcome, and Peace weapon mods now increase damage by a percentage.
  • Vee level requirements now increase with each melee weapon upgrade.
  • Note: As a result of this fix, the level of already upgraded melee weapons will change. Items from V's current equipment that require a higher level can continue to be used, but if you remove them in equipment, they will become unusable until V reaches the desired level.
  • The stats for the DR5 Nova revolver obtained from the quest " The Boss is Dead, Long Live the Boss " now correctly take into account V's level.
  • The Crusher Shotgun is no longer usable in the Shooting Tournament from quest “Aim, Fire! ".
  • Added aim assist while shooting bottles in Cassidy's challenge from quest " Don't choose a family ". Now it will be easier to pass it with a gamepad or controller.

INTERFACE

  • A number of changes have been made to make the map more convenient: icon scaling has been changed, new tips and filters have been added. Among other things, added a dynamic filter depending on the degree of zoom, and a custom filter that can be configured by the player.
  • The time skip interface has been redesigned to make it easier to switch the time of day. Now it also shows the estimated time.
  • Various sights have been updated to make them more legible, and new animations have been added.
  • Improved legibility, consistency, and appearance of various UI panels, notifications, and pop-up messages.
  • Added a notification with the name of musical compositions at the beginning of their sound on the radio.
  • The name of the vehicle you are entering will now appear on the screen.
  • Stash item tooltips now correctly display their stats.
  • Changed crosshairs when throwing knives.
  • Added a buff counter next to the health bar - it shows how many active effects have been applied to V.
  • Improved D-pad navigation on various screens and panels.
  • Description of Wakako that was missing there has been added to the database.
  • " Chaos Guards " - Improved the electrical panel interface so that players can get more feedback when interacting with it.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the mouse cursor did not resize properly in different screen resolutions.
  • Fixed an issue where the selected fast travel point would appear before the loading screen. No more spoilers, chumba!
  • Fixed a bug that caused window frames with tutorial messages to appear in the menu.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to freeze if players read the contents of a chip directly from a loot container and then immediately closed it.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the loading indicator did not disappear from the screen.

MISSIONS

  • Added a few new secrets for Night City explorers. Due to some technical limitations, this change is not available on previous generation consoles.
  • Panam, Kerry, River and Judy romances expanded with new messages and interaction options.
  • Added interaction options in lovers' homes, including the ability to sleep in the same bed with them.
  • You can now mute the police dispatcher and fixer video calls before and after completing an order. In this case, the game will automatically miss the call and you will receive a text message. This setting can be changed in Settings → Gameplay → Video Calls. By default, the police dispatcher is muted, but fixers are not.
  • Players can now reject non-essential video calls. A message will appear on the screen with options to accept or reject the video call. If you decline the video call, you will receive a text message instead.
  • The video call system has been improved: now video calls do not accumulate if the first call is loaded too slowly.
  • Nightlife in Night City has become more interesting - the music in the clubs is now louder.
  • Fixed a bug due to which, after returning from cyberspace, the distortion effect remained on the screen.
  • Fixed a bug due to which River, when answering a call, immediately hung up. That was very impolite of him!
  • " Dollhouse " - Fixed bugs due to which the Lizzies bar was closed during opening hours.
  • " Blood and Bone " - Separate journal entries for each battle now appear only after you find them.
  • " Blood and Bone " - V can no longer use previously thrown weapons in fisticuffs.
  • Blood and Bone: Glen - Fixed a bug due to which Caesar, despite the fact that he left the car, sent messages to V asking if he managed to deal with it.
  • " I, Automaton " - Theo no longer disappears during the "Talk to Theo" objective.
  • " Malfunction " - Fixed a bug that prevented Vee from getting into the van and talking to Judy after receiving the black brandance.
  • " Fashion Victims " - Fixed a bug due to which the Thorton Colby car disappeared.
  • " Reintegration " - Separate journal entries for different Delamains now only appear after you find them.
  • " Reintegrate " - Added new comments for the Delamain Taxi when players complete a mission by selecting the "Liberate" or "Integrate" option.
  • " Puppet Passion " - Fixed a bug due to which Judy did not call to start the task.
  • " Puppet Passion " - Fixed a bug due to which Judy did not appear on the balcony of the Clouds, which prevented her from completing the task.
  • " Puppet Passion " - If the player does not pick up the Death and Tax Maiko pistol while completing a mission, the weapon can now be found elsewhere.

  • "Passenger" - Fixed a bug due to which the "Scan Footprints" target indicator could change position.
  • " Paradise Lost " - fixed a bug due to which the necessary characters did not appear in the butcher's shop, which prevented the task from being completed.

  • " Shadows Roam " - Some of the audience at the Kerry and Us Cracks concert did not like that someone copied their outfits, so they changed clothes.
  • Palace Coup - Fixed an issue that prevented V from leaving Hiromi's apartment when the player called someone while taking the elevator to the maintenance floor.
  • " Stormriders " - Fixed a bug due to which, under certain circumstances, it was impossible to talk to Panam and Mitch.
  • " Apartment #303 " - Fixed a bug due to which, after completing this task, the following main tasks did not appear.
  • " Transcendental Experience "- This quest will no longer reappear in the journal for the 'Talk to Stefan' objective if V declines the offer and refunds the braindance.

GRAPHICS, SOUND, ANIMATION, SCENE DESIGN

  • Improved the appearance of water and added interaction with it. Ripples and splashes now appear on the surface of the water in various situations, for example, when colliding with an object or when shooting.
  • Improved visual effects of rain on car windows. Drops of water are no longer afraid to fall.
  • Motorcycles now have neon rims. They can be turned on and off by pressing the "E" key on the keyboard, or the left stick on the gamepad, or the left stick on the controller.
  • Improved the visual effects of the Optical Concealment implant. If Johnny had this implant in 2023, he would have blown up the Arasaka Tower by himself with no problem.
  • Fixed a bug due to which some subtitles with Johnny's lines remained hanging on the screen.
  • Fixed bugs that caused aircraft to fly through buildings.

ENVIRONMENT AND LEVELS

  • Improved the weather system, now it changes in a more logical way.
  • Significantly reduced the amount of loot that can be found in the city. Players no longer have to "vacuum" each location - and you can explore the game world without being distracted by trifles.

STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

  • Auto-detect can be enabled for slow hard drive mode. When turned on, the game automatically detects which drive it is installed on. If necessary, it will speed up the loading of data and increase the activity of the crowd, sacrificing the diversity of its composition, additional loading screens and the amount of detail on the streets during fast driving.
  • Added support for AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution (FSR) 1.0, replacing Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS). In the PC version, it can be enabled in Settings → Graphics → Resolution Scale. This setting cannot be configured on consoles.
  • Numerous stability and optimization fixes and improvements have been made.

PC CHANGES

  • Added performance test mode. It is located in the menu Settings → Run test.
  • Added "Change walking mode" function when playing from the keyboard. To turn it on, press the G key while exploring the world. You can bind this function to another key in the game settings.
  • Enabled ray-traced transparent reflections on glossy surfaces of some vehicles.
  • Added support for Variable Rate Shading (VRS). It speeds up rendering and improves the quality of graphics by changing the intensity of shading for different parts of the frame. Only available on compatible devices.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented dynamic resolution from being enabled on AMD graphics cards when ray tracing was enabled.
  • Support for NVIDIA 700 series graphics cards has been discontinued.
  • Since these graphics cards are no longer supported by the manufacturer's drivers, we have increased the minimum system requirements for NVIDIA graphics cards to GTX 970.
  • This does not mean that the game will no longer run on NVIDIA 700-series graphics cards, but we no longer use them for testing .
  • Windows 7 Future Support
  • Due to limited DirectX 12 gaming on Windows 7 devices and the end of support for DirectX 12 at the graphics card driver level, Cyberpunk 2077 updates will no longer support Windows on June 15, 2022 7. The game may stop working on Windows 7 if you decide to install the following patches released after this date.

CONSOLE CHANGES
