Resetting the tire pressure light on a Ram 1500 first requires issue to be resolved and the proper inflation pressure restored. The tire pressure monitoring system utilizes battery operated sensors in each tire that will warn the driver when the pressure has fallen below a certain threshold. Once the light comes on, the tire needs to be re-inflated to the proper pressure and the truck needs to be driven for a few miles and then the light should go out. If all the tires are properly inflated and the light still is on, it could mean that one of the tire sensors is bad. The internal battery on average lasts up to 10 years. A new sensor will cost between $20 for an aftermarket brand to over $80 for an oem.

That dinging is driving me crazy 2014 ram 1500 no reset button Any body know how to disable it?
accountCircleErich Miller October 24, 2020
I got mine to turn off without going anywhere. With the key on engine off. I filled up the tires to at least the cold tire pressure recommended on the inside drivers door pillar. The sensors read the new pressures and the TPMS light went out. Hope this helps others.

There is NO TPMS reset button on the Ram 1500. The truck should auto-detect the sensors after driving at steady speed (ideally highway speed) for 15-35 minutes. If the TPMS are not OEM spec frequency the truck may have trouble detecting them, or possibly not be able to at all. If it doesn't work you may need to have the TPMS replaced or calibrated. Sad but true

To reset the tpms to the dodge ram 1500, switch on the ignition before starting the vehicle press and hold down the tpms reset button; release the reset button when the tire pressure light flashes 3x. Start the engine and let it go for about 20 minutes. The sensor needs to be reset to this activity. Drive 10mins@ 50 mph or more. Get on the highway and travel there. Set the cruise control to ensure this speed, ideally. Normally, it helps to reset the sensor. The next time you start the engine, the message is gone.

On my 2011Ram 2500, there is a light vs heavy load tire pressure button on the dash above climate control. Switch it to the other mode and then back. That should clear it right up. This is assuming that you were getting acceptable pressure reading but still flashing. If you have a zero, this will not fix it and you will have to replace a sensor
accountCircleErich Miller November 25, 2020
I also overfilled each tire by 5psi over the pressure listed on the Drivers side door.

THERE IS NO RESET BUTTON ON A 2013 RAM. LET SOME AIR OUT OF THE TIRE THEN REFILL IT.
accountCircleErich Miller November 25, 2020
I also overfilled each tire by 5psi from what the drivers door pillar recommended.

After the TREAD Act was mandated in 2007, all vehicles manufactured in the United States beginning in 2008, must be installed with direct or indirect TPMS systems.
The RAM 1500 uses a direct TPMS system, which means TPMS sensors are installed in the wheel. If one or more tires indicate low tire pressure, the TPMS sensors will transfer the information to the vehicle’s ECU. An indicator light (low-line TPMS system) or each tire pressure will show on the dash (high-line TPMS system).
When a sensor is replaced for one or more wheels of a RAM 1500 truck, a TPMS relearn is recommended to transfer the new TPMS sensor ID’s to the vehicle’s ECU.
All OE, programmable, configurable, hybrid and OE-type (one-to-one) TPMS sensor options and service kits can be found in the VT56, VT55, VT36 TPMS Tools and most Powered by ATEQ tools.
If you notice interference of your TPMS signal on the RAM 1500, it could be due to oversized rims. The RAM, in general, have very large rims, and especially if there are larger aftermarket rims on the vehicle, it can cause RF signal interference.
Starting mid-year 2009, RAM 1500 manufactured vehicles with 433MHz TPMS sensors. Therefore, it is very important to check the TPMS sensor information before replacing the sensor to make sure you are working with the correct frequency.
The auto relearn procedure steps require the technician to drive for at least 5 minutes at 28 mph. Unfortunately, when you’re at the shop, it is not always easy or time-valuable to drive a vehicle around at over 28 mph for that amount of time. If the shop is in a city, it may not be possible to drive for over 28 mph unless the user drives outside of a city environment where it is possible to drive at higher speeds.
Solution? For RAM vehicles 2008-2017, the bonus OBD relearn procedure is available for the ATEQ VT56, thanks to patented Sync-ID technology. This advanced feature allows the user to perform an OBD relearn to turn the light off, with minimal to no driving time required to turn the light off, saving the technician time and the customer labor costs.
You are the proud owner of a recent car, the benefits of tactile gadgets, integrated technology should bring you the convenience of using your Dodge Ram, however, which says technology talks about electricity, and as we all unfortunately know, problems sometimes arise with decide. Today we will look at the tire pressure sensor and specifically how to reset the tire pressure sensor on a Dodge Ram so that you no longer have this indicator on the dashboard. To do this, we will divide our content into two parts: first we will talk about the typical case when the tire pressure indicator appears and the subsequent operation, and then about the case when the tire pressure indicator remains on. despite inflated tires, so how to reset this tire gauge on a Dodge Ram.
First, we will focus on the general methodology for resetting a tire sensor on a Dodge Ram, which if it lights up, here are the basic steps:
Now that you have used the basic operation to remove the tire pressure sensor on the Dodge Ram, and it didn't work, we'll move on to the second alternative, which is that the tires on my Dodge Ram are well inflated and I still want that light to go out. This probably means that you have Faulty tire pressure sensor. This requires to reset the value on your car's dashboard. However, be careful not to do this while driving as pressure fluctuations can damage your pressure sensors. In most cases you have to go through the vehicle settings, then you have to find an option to detect inflation or "detect deflation" where in this tab you have to hold the select button or the reset button depending on the year of your Dodge Ram until a message appears with car console confirming that the reset has been taken into account (usually takes a few seconds). You can now turn off the ignition and restart your Dodge Ram to see if the tire pressure light has gone out.
If you need more Dodge Ram manuals, go to our Dodge Ram category.
How to reset the tire pressure monitoring system on a Dodge Dart? To reset TPMS on a Dodge Dart, make sure the tire pressure is correct, then turn the vehicle on. To reset tpms on a 2016 Dodge Charger, hold down the tpms reset button until the tire pressure light flashes, start the vehicle, and wait about 20 minutes.
TPMS indicator is on constantly.
This could mean that the air pressure in one or more tires is too low. If you've already checked and know it's not, it could indicate that the TPMS sensor isn't reading correctly.
Locate the battery and disconnect the negative battery cable. For this you will need a key. After disconnecting the battery, turn on the car and press the horn for about three seconds. This will drain any remaining energy stored in the car's electrical system.
If you find that your tires have low air pressure and the system does not warn, it must be due to a faulty TPMS sensor. You can check your tire pressure with a pressure gauge to make sure you have really low tire pressure. Twitching steering wheel.
Whenever your vehicle talks about tire pressure monitoring system service, it means you most likely have a faulty tire pressure monitoring sensor (TPMS). This warning is just telling you that something is wrong with TPMS. TPMS or Tire Monitoring Service System simply tells you when tire pressure is too low or too high.
Turn the vehicle key to the on position, but do not start the vehicle. Press and hold the TPMS reset button until the tire pressure indicator flashes three times. Release the button and start the car. The light should go out within 20 minutes.
TPMS stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. In most vehicles, the TPMS reset button is located under the steering wheel. After changing the tires on your vehicle, you need to perform an electronic reset of the TPMS system in order to reset the error code. Start the car and wait 20 minutes and the sensor will update.
TPMS problems can include any of the following: The TPMS module itself is not working properly or has failed due to a power supply, wiring or internal electronics failure. • The tires have recently been serviced or changed and the relearn procedure was not performed correctly.
You will usually find the tire pressure sensor reset button under the steering wheel.
First turn the ignition to "ON" without starting the vehicle. Now press the "TPMS Reset" button (located to the right of the steering wheel) until you see the tire pressure light flash three times and then release the button.

If you have a keyless start system, press the engine start button twice. Now that you have power for the car, go ahead and hold the tire pressure monitor button located either on the steering wheel or on the dashboard.
If the airbag indicator is off, your airbags will deploy normally. The BCM detects a configuration change and since bluetooth is not working, the odometer flashes.
If you have inflated your tires to the proper air pressure and the warning light stays on, you may have a leak or TPMS problem in one or more of your tires. It is enough to simply check if there is a leak in the tire. Simply use a tire pressure gauge to double check the air pressure in all your tires.
It is not safe to drive with the TPMS light on. If the indicator comes on while driving, slow down and drive to the nearest gas station or service station to inspect the tire.
The US Department of Transportation required all vehicles manufactured after 2008 to be equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
