Equipment and technology for the production of commercial tires retreading
#Chemical industry
Tire retreading refers to the process of their overhaul; and its implementation is promising due to the fact that:
tire retreading makes it possible to offer the consumer high-quality retreaded tires at a cost of 25-30% lower than the cost of new . At the same time, a high mileage of a retreaded tire is guaranteed, equal to the mileage of a new one;
retreading a worn tire is an economical alternative to buying new tires and saves fleets significant amounts ;
reduction of landfills old tires;
reduction of environmental pollution harmful combustion products of rubber;
saves an average of 52 liters of crude oil , which must be spent on the production of a new tire.
Tire overhaul only applies to "commercial" tires for trucks, construction vehicles and buses that have a strong all-metal carcass. In addition, the cost of car tires is an order of magnitude lower than truck tires, and, accordingly, a complete replacement of car tires, as a rule, does not incur significant financial costs.
Tire retreading technology
Currently, the two most common tire retreading technologies are hot technology and cold technology.
Below is a brief comparative analysis of the two tire retreading technologies:
hot tire retreading technology requires:
the presence of a vulcanizer;
availability of separate molds for each tire diameter. Equipment for this method requires tangible costs. Raw material for this method - crude rubber is cheaper than a tread for cold technology;
cold tire retreading technology requires relatively lower costs (compared to hot technology), but consumables (a protector in the form of a ring or tape that is put on the tire) are much more expensive than raw rubber for hot technology;
hot technology is used only in the production of a large flow of tires of the same size;
cold technology allows you to work with tires of various sizes.
The advantages of cold tire retreading technology are:
the required quality during repair is achieved due to the low tread curing temperature - from 100 to 115 about C. At higher temperatures (hot technology), the retreaded carcass loses its quality characteristics and service life such a tire is much lower than that of a new one;
with hot technology, the tire loses the ability to be repaired for the second, third, fourth time;
Compared with hot technology equipment, cold technology equipment is simpler, cheaper, environmentally friendly;
cold tread technology equipment is more versatile. Expensive molds for each size and a special tread pattern are not required, as with hot technology. It is enough to have several types of tread tapes for tire operation in various conditions;
, the tread tapes and rings offered by manufacturers for cold tire repair technology allow you to get tires with almost any given pattern, any width and depth, for a wide variety of operating conditions (regional and long-distance transportation, intracity trips, etc. ).
The fact that the world's largest tire manufacturers Michelin, Bridgestone (trademark Bandag), Nokian Tires (trademark Noktop), along with the release of new tires, also produces a large number of tread tapes of various sizes for use in the process, also speaks in favor of cold repair technology. cold tire retreading.
The cold repair technology can also be conditionally divided into a variant using a tread tape and a variant using a tread in the form of a finished ring with a prevulcanized layer (one of the main advantages of this technology is a significant reduction in working time at the stage of installing a new tread and, accordingly, in this case increases the productivity of the tire retreading plant).
A standard set of cold retreading equipment typically includes the following machines and fixtures:
Stands for visual inspection (examination) of tire carcasses and their subsequent repair; it is additionally recommended to use equipment for non-destructive testing to detect hidden damage to the frame and prevent the destruction of the frame.
Buffing machines for removing old (worn) tread from carcass.
Monorail systems for moving prepared (roughened) frameworks.
Equipment for mounting tread bands or tread rings.
Stands for putting on envelops (rubber envelopes).
Stands for the preparation of the tread tape.
Tools for cutting raw rubber.
Monorail for moving prepared tires (with envelops on).
Tire curing autoclave.
Equipment for testing the quality of retreaded tires.

Repair and replacement of tires for agricultural and forestry machines - Video
Repair
Views 219 Updated by
Agricultural and forestry machines are machines whose tires are especially susceptible to any damage. Unlike passenger cars, changing tires in this type of vehicle requires a lot of experience and appropriate technical equipment.
There are also situations where a tire can be repaired without replacing it with a new one. What damage do vulcanizers encounter most often and how do they deal with it?

The most common damage to tires of agricultural and forestry vehicles
The greatest danger to the condition of the tires of agricultural and forestry vehicles is, above all, the extremely difficult terrain conditions in which they must perform their work.
What exactly are we talking about?
Vehicles of this type move mainly on dirt roads with gravel and many sharp stones. Although tires are an extremely durable construction, sometimes the rubber surface will tear. The same goes for construction sites, where various sharp objects such as screws or nails may lie.
Sometimes there is no road at all in the working area, and the machines literally have to drive through fields, swamps or woodlands, which also offer many surprises that can be found right under the wheels at any moment.
If the driver of the vehicle feels that something is wrong with the tire pressure, stop the vehicle as soon as possible. The best way to get rid of an unpleasant problem is to entrust the tire to the best vulcanizers. How exactly does the process of repairing such a tire look like?
Tires for forestry and agricultural machines - repair
First of all, it is necessary to start with the fact that not every tire can be repaired. It all depends on the amount of damage done. This is where the professionals begin their work.
