Front tires on most vehicles tend to wear faster than rear tires. This is due to the steering effects of the vehicle and the weight transfer that occurs during braking. In order to ensure that all four tires wear evenly, it is important to swap them out on a regular basis. Changing wheels helps maintain balanced driving. As tire wear reduces tread depth, this increases driver response. Therefore, by equalizing tire wear on all four wheels, driving performance is actually improved.
Another benefit of tire rotation is that it allows tire changes to be made in sets rather than in pairs or singly. Instead of trying to pick up a pair of old tires, you can replace all four tires and enjoy a comfortable ride.
Tire rotation will not correct uneven wear, wheel alignment, or worn suspension parts. If these problems exist, it is necessary to contact a car service for the correct repair and elimination of the problem.
Currently experienced professionals recommend keeping the tires in the best condition on the rear wheels of the vehicle, regardless of the vehicle's drive. The logic is that if the rear wheels lose traction before the front wheels, then a cornering skid can easily occur, which will be much more difficult to control. The intuition that the front tires (steering tires) should be in better condition than the rear ones is wrong!
Buy tires for your vehicle of the correct size, consider factors such as speed and load index and temperature classes.
