IV. Discovery of new knowledge

10 min

A car is a land vehicle on wheels with its own engine.

The first car models were created in 1885-86 by German inventors. The first car looked like a horse-drawn carriage and was therefore often referred to as a horseless carriage.

G. Daimler in 1885 created and patented a three-wheeled self-propelled carriage with a gasoline engine. Later, a similar car was created by Karl Benz.

After 8 years, Benz produced a four-wheeled car in which the wheels turned one by one, and not entirely on one axis, as before. A grandiose breakthrough in the automotive industry received the proud name "Victoria".

The first Soviet truck AMO-f-15 was produced in 1924. In 1931, the Moscow Automobile Plant was put into operation, which since 1956 bears the name of its first director, I.A. Likhachev.

During the war years in the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk region, the production of Ural trucks began, which delivered ammunition and food to our soldiers - defenders to the defense line, and took children out of besieged Leningrad.

What do you think trucks are used for?

Trucks are used to transport various goods, from which they got their name. Who knows what trucks are?

They come in two types: flatbed and dump trucks.

Flatbed bodies can be attached directly to the vehicle frame or mounted separately on wheels, in which case they are a trailer and the vehicle serves as a tractor.

The most versatile trucks belong to the KamAZ family (the plant is an auto giant on the banks of the Kama River in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny).

Designers are constantly working on improving car models. Various dump trucks are produced by KrAZ (Kremenchug Automobile Plant), KamAZ, BelAZ (Belarusian Automobile Plant, located in the city of Zhodino), MAZ (Minsk Automobile Plant).

Most special vehicles are built on the basis of trucks. These include fire trucks, watering trucks, trucks for transporting bread, furniture, milk, gasoline and other goods.

Even car theft in most cases does not enrich its former owner with the necessary experience. He does not know how he was hijacked, how the protection was overcome, and how long it took the hijacker. In the flow of security tools created and available today, it is necessary to single out technologies of increased "theft" resistance.

Even stealing a car in the overwhelming majority of cases does not enrich its former owner with the necessary experience. He does not know how he was hijacked, how the protection was overcome, and how long it took the hijacker. However, the developers of car security systems, of course, do not "sleep" at their workplace and follow the "art" of the hijackers. In the flow of security tools created by them and available today, it is necessary to single out technologies of increased "hijacking" resistance. Such systems define the highest possible level of protection. At their cost, they may not be available to every car owner, but it is useful to know about them, and sometimes it is simply necessary. In addition, many progressive solutions quickly become cheaper and soon become a mandatory standard, as happened, for example, with dynamic KeeLoq code.

Below we introduce Wait Up, Hook Up, DAWT, MED immobilizer and CarMan CM 1990C-F.

Wait Up Technology
This is an original anti-theft device patented by Altonika. This technology is used in Black Bug BT-71W, BT-84W, BT-85W, R-402W, R-404W, R-405W systems. The index "W" in the designation indicates this technology and is translated by the developers as "wait without a wink of eyes." The design of this device is implemented in the form of a regular car relay, but, of course, with an electronic "stuffing". It is controlled by signals from the alarm unit transmitted via the +12V power supply, that is, this technology uses the principle of wireless blocking.

The essence of the original invention is that the Wait Up relay blocks the operation of the engine at the beginning of unauthorized movement, which is recorded by the movement sensor built into the relay. In a stationary car, the relay does not manifest itself in any way, allowing the engine to start normally.

Customer Benefits:
• Difficult to detect blockages by checking chains with vehicle stationary for open circuits. In the initial state, when the vehicle is stationary, the relay contacts are closed.
• The Wait Up relay is plausibly simulating an engine failure. When trying to steal, it makes it possible to start the engine, but turns it off whenever the car moves off.
• Even if the central unit is removed, the Wait Up relay will continue its noble work of blocking the engine when starting to move.
• Locking/unlocking door locks when arming/disarming.

But, of course, this technology does not interfere with the banal towing of the car. The effectiveness of car protection increases significantly when using the Wait Up system in conjunction with various monitoring systems. The car owner should take into account that the relay is not supplied separately from the systems and is purchased only from official Altonika dealers.

The cost of Wait Up systems with installation is from $500 to $2000.

Hook Up Technology
A revolutionary innovation in intrusion technology has been the wireless interlock, which ensures the stealth installation and remoteness of remotely controlled relays from the central unit.

The design feature is that the blocking relay is controlled by a coded signal propagating through the +12V vehicle on-board power supply circuit.

Since several relays can be turned on/off with the same signal, the number of possible blockings is equal to the number of special blocking relays used.

The absence of wires connecting such relays to the alarm unit allows them to be installed discreetly, making it difficult for a hijacker to access and neutralize. Stealth is also achieved due to the small size of the relay itself.

Security systems using wireless interlock technology have been greatly simplified, since the unit itself no longer contains a relay. The original design of the anti-theft device in the form of a cigarette immobilizer (MX-37), the "electronics" of which is built into a miniature body like a cigarette lighter, has become widespread.

The cigarette lighter key itself is taken by the driver with him after turning off the engine.

Customer benefits:
• Increased concealment of blocking relay placement.
• Interlock relay can be installed remote from the control box.

Wireless locks are used in Reef Net, Reef, Guard, Mister MX-37, MX-40, MX-300 anti-theft systems, Black Bug Plus BT-71M (L) systems, Exellent systems (Capital, Country, Continent, Comfort).
Cost (with installation) - from $65 to $400.

MED system
This system is an immobilizer with sealed wireless lock relay. Due to the tightness, the relay is installed in the fuel tank, blocking the power circuits of the electric pump located there. It is applied to injection engines.

A superficial inspection of the fuel tank does not reveal the blocking relay located there. The kit includes an electronic key to unlock the contact type with a dynamic code.

Customer Benefits:
• Ingenious sealed design for concealed installation in the fuel tank.

The cost of the system with installation is $500.

DAWT Technology
Offered by DEFEN Group. The essence of this technology lies in the fact that the blocking relay is not controlled by the standard vehicle wiring, but by a separate wire (digital single-wire bus), that is, the relay is not remotely controlled. This control method provides greater resistance to interference than a relay made using Hook Up technology, increasing the overall reliability of control. When using the Hook Up relay, it was necessary to check the quality of communication through the standard vehicle wiring in cases of increased signal attenuation. Meritec systems using DAWT relays do not have this drawback.

A series of new security systems Meritec 2 consists of 5 models that have a digital bus for the DAWT relay. At the same time, it is possible to control the digital relay of the hood lock, which guarantees its locking every time the security mode is activated.

An original feature - the blocking relay is turned off not by the system key fob, but by an additional electronic key - Touch Memory Dallas tablet, which increases the level of car anti-theft protection.

Customer benefits:
• Increased concealment of blocking relay placement.
• Deactivation of the engine lock with the Dallas electronic key-tablet.
• Simultaneous engine and hood lock.

Cost of systems without installation - from $128 to $180

CARMAN technology
CarMan anti-theft system 1990C-F.

Proposed and patented an original way to protect the injection engine from unauthorized start, based on the modification of the standard crankshaft pulley. Pulley modification consists in creating an additional mark on the pulley ring gear by removing two pairs of teeth.

The necessary signals for a successful engine start are generated by the electronic unit of the system, coded for a specific pulley modification. And the increased reliability of protection is manifested in the fact that any intervention or changes in the electrical wiring of the car undertaken by the hijacker will never lead to starting the engine. Access to the modified pulley is very difficult, and its removal (in order to replace it with a regular one) is excluded by mechanical shear bolts. As the developers joke, in order to start the engine, the hijacker needs to replace the engine!

To turn off the engine lock when it starts, touch the corresponding socket with the Touch Memory Dallas electronic key.

Customer Benefits:
• Exceptionally high neutralization system resistance.
• Absolute failure of attempts to hack the system by interfering with the electrical equipment of the car and the electronic part of the system.

The cost of the system with installation is $330.

Resume
The modern arsenal of anti-theft protection is very diverse and can be highly effective with high-quality professional installation of a security complex consisting of several devices and protection lines.

A number of security and protection equipment is quite affordable, and insurance discounts may well compensate for most of the costs of even the most expensive devices.

Make informed choices.
