The specifics of the operation of trucks determines some features of their design. This applies not only to technological solutions used in the design process, but also to the care of trucks. In the material of the article, we will briefly consider some features of the device and maintenance of a truck.
Most of the trucks are engaged in cargo transportation. This process implies delivery time limits. At the same time, as a rule, it is impossible to break deadlines in any case. For example, food products have their own limited shelf life, exceeding which will lead to damage to the goods and losses.
Therefore, the primary task in the design of a truck is to achieve maximum reliability while maintaining maintainability and low price. Obeying the rules dictated by the specifics of work, the arrangement and maintenance of trucks has certain differences from passenger cars. Consider the main design features inherent in almost all trucks: nine0003
These and some other features impose their limitations on the operation and maintenance of trucks.
Some aspects of maintenance are closely related to the specifics of the truck design. Unprepared motorists who have moved from cars to trucks do not immediately delve into all the nuances of maintenance.
At first glance, almost everything in the device and maintenance of trucks is the same or very similar to passenger cars. There are regulations for EO, TO-1, TO-2 and so on. Indeed, the main maintenance items do not differ from those for passenger cars. But there are still some key differences. nine0003
Let's take a quick look at the important points when carrying out truck maintenance, which are not always given enough attention:
In connection with all the features discussed, trucks usually receive more attention during maintenance than cars. The most important aspect of the trouble-free operation of a truck is the use of quality parts and materials in the process of repair and maintenance. TopDetal.ru, an online truck spare parts store, sells high-quality components for trucks of domestic and foreign production. In our catalog you will find a wide range of spare parts, and if the required part is not in stock, we are always ready to bring it to order! Specify information by phone 8 800 444-75-16. nine0003
Return to the list
Every truck requires periodic maintenance. This is a series of procedures, the purpose of which is to ensure the stable operation and high quality of all elements of the vehicle. Regular maintenance is especially necessary for trucks, which are constantly subjected to significant loads. The lack of timely inspection and repair is the main reason for the decline in truck performance. This important event allows you to effectively use the machine, reduce the cost of its operation and repair. nine0003
Maintenance of trucks, in comparison with other types of vehicles, has its own characteristics, which every owner should be familiar with. The make, model and manufacturer of the car is not important - maintenance is equally necessary for both domestic and foreign trucks. Below we will talk about the stages and features of maintenance without reference to the type and model of the vehicle.
Many car owners do not realize that timing and other aspects of vehicle maintenance do not depend on manufacturers and suppliers. These rules are determined by the regulations of the state standard GOST 21624-81, which is called the “System for the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment. Requirements for operational manufacturability and maintainability of products. This document establishes the timing and frequency of maintenance, contains a list of rules and requirements for the production and repair of automotive equipment. nine0003
It is worth noting that car manufacturers also set their own maintenance intervals and procedures. However, observations show that the state standard optimally reflects the current state of affairs, and the timing and maintenance rules regulated by it are in many respects similar to the requirements of manufacturers.
State standard describes three types of vehicle maintenance:
GOST also contains requirements for the frequency of scheduled maintenance (service interval). It depends on the mileage of the truck and is measured in kilometers traveled. Various types of maintenance are required at the following stages of operation:
GOST does not specify the terms of maintenance, which should be carried out during the vehicle's running-in. These requirements are set by the manufacturer. In most cases, the break-in of trucks is about 1000 kilometers. Many manufacturers recommend replacing engine and transmission oil when this value is reached. Despite the fact that the first maintenance should be performed with a mileage of 4000 kilometers or more, the procedure can be carried out earlier if the car owner is not sure that the established operating rules are fully observed. This will help preserve the resource of the engine and transmission, the reduction of which leads to significant problems and financial costs during the subsequent use of the vehicle. For greater certainty, it is recommended to carry out part of the maintenance work at a mileage of 1000 to 1500 kilometers. nine0003
GOST does not specify another type of maintenance that takes place on the territory of Russia - seasonal maintenance (SRT). It is performed every six months in early spring and late summer. The purpose of this procedure is to prepare the vehicle for upcoming climate changes associated with the change of season.
There are exceptions to the general requirements. For example, most modern models of freight transport from European and American manufacturers, including Iveco brand cars common in the Russian Federation, are characterized by an extended service interval. It can reach 60,000 kilometers. We are talking about the second maintenance (TO-2), which involves the replacement of engine oil. This fact does not contradict the rules of the state standard, since the mileage regulated by it between TO-2 has no upper limit (only the minimum period is indicated). nine0003
Large trucks and long-haul tractors have a service interval of up to 100,000 kilometers. But it is worth considering that this value is set only for the operation of transport in European countries. In Russia, there are many negative factors that accelerate the wear of the engine and other mechanisms of the car, including poor fuel quality and unacceptable road conditions. If European standards are followed for the transport described above, then there is a possibility that the truck will fail before it reaches the next maintenance or require significant repair costs. nine0003
So, what is the best interval to perform maintenance on a truck? The answer to this question lies in many factors, but in most cases it depends on age. If the vehicle was purchased recently and is still within the warranty period, then the procedure must be carried out according to the requirements of the dealer. For cars that have been in operation for a long period, the service interval is determined by the owners themselves. In this case, it is recommended to follow the terms specified by the manufacturer or GOST recommendations. nine0003
The list of procedures included in the maintenance depends on the vehicle mileage:
During the year, the owner of the truck undergoes several types of maintenance.
