Bridgestone Driveguard Review & Rating for 2022: Great Run-Flat Right Now

With many factors such as traction, cornering ability, noise, or more, however, you may still be hesitant before choosing Bridgestone Driveguard.

To give you more peace of mind before deciding, my honest experiences are after testing this model in different weather conditions.

In addition, I also evaluate more about the performance and comfort when using this tire. Read on to understand better:

Snow

The characteristic of DriveGuard for four seasons is high traction on snow surfaces. It can be that this tire can help you confidently in harsh winter conditions with perfect drive protection.

Your car will run extremely smoothly and be stable enough in light snow, but you should not be subjective but need to be more careful than ever because tires can lose traction and affect due to long braking distances.

Its performance cannot be compared with specialized ones. However, versatility and balance are the highlights of this version.

Wet traction

Wet grip is important for most large tires. With an enhanced groove design, Bridgestone provides users greater water resistance and further drainage.

With the harmonious combination of silica-enhanced tread compound, this model left me very satisfied with its good wet drag design and high efficiency.

It’s great because you won’t need to worry about losing traction every time it rains heavily or walks through a large puddle!

Besides, DriveGuard gives me a safe feeling when traveling on wet runways because it still ensures traction when cornering. In addition, the Bridgestone tires provide good transmission with natural response and ease of handling.

All in all, it offers excellent traction in wet conditions.

Dry performance

Are you a user with great concern about dry performance? Bridgestone does this. With the enhanced tire compound, this model offers the perfect grip compared to other materials on the market.

Featured by the hip cooling design, this product offers powerful performance, thus greatly reducing the actual weight of the car.

As a result, the pre-treatment of unexpected agents from the surrounding conditions is also much faster and more timely.

Thanks to its stable dry performance, it is no longer a big concern on rainy days or wet or humid conditions.

It can be that its drive configuration has brought an extremely powerful engine, so you can safely use it even though the braking distance is quite short.

However, I don’t really like that the wheel can slide when you accelerate too strongly while turning corners at high speed.

Comfort & Quiet

Because Bridgestone tires are distinguished by their flat tread pattern, it provides a comfortable feel when using lightweight rubber side pads.

In terms of comfort, this tire quality seems to be superior to any travel tire, no matter how small or large the vehicle is.

Besides the smooth operation, the DriveGuard seemed to make some loud and not very soft thumps whenever I moved through rough or bumpy roads.

However, this problem doesn’t seem to be a big deal as it is perfect for reducing vibrations from small defects you often encounter on the highway.

Off-road

This tire model is stable on most roads and terrain. Yet, the appearance of noise will be inevitable if you travel on a road that is too rough and full of defects.

Do not be too hesitant because Bridgestone offers the highest stability compared to some products with similar prices and materials on the market.

The grip and performance are still maintained with rough and bumpy terrain.

Therefore, I was very pleased when I mentioned this tire.

Bridgestone Driveguard: Pros & Cons

Above is some information about the features and outstanding features of Bridgestone Driveguard. However, for the most specific and concise summary of this model, continue reading to learn more.

  • Assisted driving by 50 mph by sidewall after puncture and flat tire
  • The ability to grip the road on light snow
  • Excellent and timely braking on dry pavement on dry surfaces
  • Light and flat structure, convenient to operate for a smooth ride
  • Quick steering control
  • Highly comfortable
  • Long warranty
  • Advanced cooling technology helps distribute pressure and move safely.

Cons
  • Feedback is not so stable when cornering or at high speed.

Should I Buy It?

Bridgestone Driveguard has many advantages for you to choose it safely.

First of all, it is perfect to work both on dry and wet surfaces and in 4-season conditions. With a stable grip, this model has the feature of smooth cornering at high speeds.

This tire also offers the ability to drive an additional 50 miles with punctures at speeds of up to 50 mph. Not only that, I am very pleased with the excellent and timely braking on dry pavement on dry surfaces.

Most of these tires offer safety performance that is standard for all tires without the tire’s internal pressure will not provide the same safety performance with it.

Not only that, but this type of tire also brings comfort to the driver and makes the tire more flexible, and significantly improves drivability.

Bridgestone DriveGuard Winter (Drive Guard Winter)

Bridgestone Drive Guard Winter tires are excellent tires from the outstanding Japanese tire manufacturer . The tire was released in 2016. Having passed multi-level independent tests, the tires received a positive response from independent experts from TUV SUD and other organizations. The presented winter tires are designed for use on premium passenger cars that have a tpms sensor, that is, a tire pressure detector. This is due to the presence of a reinforced sidewall, which prevents tires from losing their running performance after a puncture. For 80 km after the puncture, the car drives as if nothing had happened.

Bridgestone DriveGuard Winter tread

The tread design of the rubber is designed in a symmetrical directional form. This design assumes effective removal of the snow mass from the contact spot of the product, thereby the rubber prevents slipping and skidding. Reinforced sidewalls have a positive effect not only on run-flat characteristics, but also, together with a powerful shoulder area, increase maneuverability, thereby making the ride safe and devoid of unforeseen circumstances. The wide contact patch adheres as closely as possible to the road and leaves its area unchanged under any conditions. This guarantees straight-line stability, maximum grip and short braking times.

In order to move comfortably on melted snow or on water, the developers have equipped the tires with an innovative aqua-drainage system. It consists of five longitudinal grooves and a mass of transverse tubules, which are located at an acute angle to the central groove. The five annular channels have different structures. Three of them are continuous, they carry out the main removal of liquids, and two, located near the shoulder zone, have a zigzag shape. They improve traction, both straight and lateral.

Bridgestone DriveGuard Winter Rubber contains a thermally insulated polyester carcass in its construction, which perfectly holds the entire structure, making movement smooth and safe. The sidewalls have so-called “fins”, which reduce the accumulation of engine energy during punctures. This means that in the event of an emergency, tires will instantly adapt to new conditions and will not cause inconvenience.

Bridgestone Drive Guard Winter 9 rubber compound0004

Due to the use of proprietary Nano Pro-Tech technology, tires have top-class technical performance, especially on wet roads. Silk in the composition does not allow the product to harden, and a unique synthetic rubber provides tires with the wear resistance of and a reduced level of rolling resistance.

Tires Bridgestone Blizzak Ice

One two three four five, Ice went to ride again. Guys, the fifth season is in good condition! These are not tires, but some kind of standard of strength is obtained. Now it is difficult to describe all the advantages, because for so long they have become related to tires, I can only look at the size - 225 / 60R17 on the BMW X3. (and it hasn't been erased after all))))) I really like it, I advise it.

Tires Bridgestone Blizzak Spike-02 SUV

Advantages

Good grip, tread pattern

Disadvantages

Not found

Spikes are needed for winter, so I didn't even consider Velcro. I settled on Bridgestone because I liked the developed tread pattern, which compares favorably with others in this price range. We balanced easily, rode through all the winter elements without losing grip. Took on Duster, the price tag is adequate. For 2 years they did not disappoint.

Tires Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V3

Handling is just as good as a spike. I got into a couple of holes - nothing happened to the rubber. There is no experience in heavy ice yet, but slush, puddles, snow, mud - it copes very well. While the tires make me happy, let's see what happens with wear, but the bridge seems to have always walked for a long time.

Tires Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE004

Advantages

it's just flying away, you don't want to get out from behind the wheel. In Moscow traffic jams, of course, it doesn’t feel like that, but getting out on any little bit of a long distance, you want to throw a couple of hundred more kilometers of the way, just to feel how the car is going.

Disadvantages

no

I already have a Mercedes S-class, which in itself is conducive to a comfortable trip, and the rubber complements very nicely, I took it in size 255/45R18

took on Land Rover. To my joy, on these tires, he stopped swaying so much during a sharp change of lane and exiting a turn, he began to hold the road better, the season passed, wear is not visible, the tires are like new. The sidewall is strong, hernias did not pop up.

Tires Bridgestone Turanza T005

Advantages

All-weather grip

Disadvantages

no

I have, like an experienced driver, the movements have already been honed to automatism, because for many years I have been driving Turanza. The previous (first) traveled with me for five years, before selling the car, t005 is the second season. The response to the controls of the car is simply amazing, sometimes (especially on the track) it seems that it is controlled intuitively. I feel at one with the tires, all my ideas are 100% fulfilled. When it rains, I do not notice any noticeable deviations from the usual driving style.

Studded model that will last a long time faithfully. At the same time, it will not remain bald) the spikes of the bath are reliable and do not fall out, even if at the beginning and at the end of the season you had to drive on asphalt. I will not say that this is a quiet model, although there is not much noise. But here's a reliable ea all 100 percent. The braking distance is minimal, the confidence on the road is at its best.

good tires for the city and the highway, keeps ice. Very predictable tires - if you need to slow down, they slow down, you need to drive uphill on rolled snow - no problem, they will stop by. For 3 years of use, it has never been that they floated on any road, or the car lost control.

Super track tires

Disadvantages

I am not a fan of any brand of tires at all, I change after 3 seasons, focusing on the planned budget. And then the wife pushed, the reviews, she says, are good. In principle, I have been going for the second year and the next, most likely, I will take these again. I liked the increased handling on the track, and the braking distance is short

Tires Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000S

Advantages

Excellent quality

Disadvantages

No

I specially took tires of this particular brand and this line, always with studs. The previous car had exactly the same tires, just a different size. They say spikes are not needed in Moscow, but I drive 90% or even 95% of the time in Moscow and it’s completely uncomfortable to ride without spikes.

Tires Bridgestone Blizzak VRX

Advantages

On the road behaves like summer tires, excellent grip, stopping distance; does not make noise; the sides are rigid, resistant to curbs.

Disadvantages

the price is slightly higher compared to Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice + (2000t. R), Dunlop SP Winter Sport 400, Dunlop Graspic DS3, Yokohama Ice Guard IG50, Hankook Winter I * Cept Evo a little higher.

Before buying, I looked through a lot of tests, the choice for winter (ice, snow, slurry, water) stopped on an asymmetric tread pattern. I bought it in September in a tire shop on a falcon, they immediately changed their shoes at a discount (it was cheaper than even in a regular garage tire fitting). I went to St. Petersburg (1700 km), the road keeps excellent, in a rut after the rain it goes smoothly, you feel confident, after the trip the tread is like new. For the city and the highway, the choice is excellent, for small streets near Moscow, where snow is rolled into ice, spikes are needed.

Tires Bridgestone Turanza T001

Features

wear resistance handling

Disadvantages

price

I bought t001 after I rolled two sets of turanza ER300 to zero (due to the type of activity, the mileage is high) it is really much quieter, as for the "woodiness", you guys have not yet come across really wooden tires. On wet roads at speed, it behaves better, pops up much later than the ER300. Everything else is also at a high level. Of course, there are better tires, but if you take into account wear resistance, then there are no better tires for this money. I installed the tires in July 2014 until the end of the season, dashed off almost 50,000 km, judging by the tread, it will be enough for at least the same amount. If you really know tires that are better than T001 in all characteristics, tell me, I will definitely try

Tires Bridgestone Potenza S001

Comrades, motorists, you understand one thing, tires are all different in characteristics, for different purposes and needs, there is soft and comfortable, but there is hard sports, and there is something in between! You decide what you yourself need! Here's an example from my personal experience: there was a leather-mozha sedan, a roll and a big set Nokian Blue-kayf 205/55/16! no noise vooooosche, soft like silicone breasts, holding the road like too worthy, But! I cut 2 wheels in a month! the first one, though, on the highway at 100 km / h, there was a small hole, let’s say, and the second one, damn it, in the yard of 20 km / h, it flew no more, honestly, without exaggeration, there were a couple of potholes on the pavement and I cut it with a disk for those 4-5 cm, in short, not for our roads I answer guys! well, in corners heels and slips as it becomes uncomfortable. Before that, there was (I was seduced by the seller’s consultant’s noodles so that he could ride a cart with a donkey all his life, they don’t know anything else just to soar) Kumho KH 17 is not fish or meat for pensioners at all, it doesn’t hold the road and doesn’t slow down, really pit swallows are not bad 2 seasons withstood and the noise is tolerable. I changed the car in 2012 and took a new one, and it was equipped with a Bridgestone POTENZA S001 Yes, it’s harsh, Yes, it’s noisy, But on the road it’s like a glove, it’s just a fairy tale in corners (though passengers start to feel sick later, those who didn’t jump out on the go before turning when they saw the speed on the speedometer) but Of course, I must admit, and a sports car with a sports suspension, but still pits, potholes, ravines and Gibbd are not how much rubber! very relevant in Russia in the spring. To summarize: Bridgestone POTENZA S001 is designed for high-speed driving, sharp maneuvers and sharp turns, for sports or semi-sport cars, for those who love speed and drive, for the sake of complete comfort.
