India has created the cheapest car in the world
The Indian company Bajaj Auto has introduced a new Qute model (RE60 index). The car will be exported to 16 countries in Asia and Africa, and the supply of new items to Europe has not yet been reported. The Qute will cost around $2,000 on average, cheaper than the most affordable car on the planet, the Tata Nano ($3,000), according to Indianautosblog.
Formally Bajaj Qute is not a car, but an ATV. The model is 2752 mm long, 1312 mm wide and 1650 mm high. In order to turn around, Qute will need only 3.5 meters. The Indian company has certified the new product as an ATV in order to bypass a number of safety requirements for cars in Asia and Africa. The model is driven by a 0.2-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 13.5 hp. and 19.6 Nm of torque. The power unit meets the environmental requirements of Euro-3. On one liter of gasoline, Bajaj Qute travels up to 36 kilometers. The maximum speed of the novelty is 70 km / h, and the curb weight of the Qute in the most equipped version does not exceed 400 kilograms.
In May, the Indian company Tata updated the Nano urban subcompact car, which will compete with the Bajaj Qute. The restyled Tata Nano began to be equipped with a five-speed robotic gearbox. The car received new bumpers, modified optics and a different grille. The ground clearance of the car was increased to 180 mm, and the boot volume - up to 94 liters. The company noted that the novelty has become safer than its predecessor due to additional body protection.

Quite a few assets have already been thrown into the furnace of the sanctions struggle: many large companies that have been investing in Russia for years are leaving. There is no doubt that the automotive market will also thin out - not everyone will restrain the "democratic impulse" of their home politicians. However, just as relevant, if not even more relevant, is another observation: a holy place is never empty. One of the possible solutions to replace the largest players in the Russian automotive market is on the AvtoVzglyad portal.
Evgeny Vasin
Korean and German, Italian and French, American and Japanese - almost all automotive companies in the world are included in the "risk zone" for Russia. In the absence of the proper number of arguments - all key sanctions were introduced in the very first weeks - the governments of "interested" countries can literally "order" businesses to wind down, and not even always with compensation for losses. Sounds harsh, but that's the reality: there's too much at stake right now. As a matter of fact, parallel import, about which a lot has already been written, only emphasizes the “viability” of this solution.
And the automakers themselves may perceive the current situation as a “sign from above”: after the pandemic, production has not fully recovered, many factories are standing still, and Russia and its market are not that big. There is no comparison with China, where more than 20 million new cars are sold annually. Can it really be curtailed, especially if the state “pays extra for loyalty”?
The above strategy is acceptable for small and medium, but far from large, and even more so international business. Plans and strategies are built for years, if not decades, multi-billion dollar budgets invested in factories and advertising campaigns. To write them off is simply to put the very existence of the brand into question. Gap in the budget than to close? Promises and position? The value of shares from such an "outcome" will not grow, only decrease, and the opportunities for small enterprises, as well as for large ones, are not that very much. Markets have just begun to recover from the pandemic, demand is not growing as fast as many would like, and the holes from covid have not yet been patched.
However, there is another reason: the decrease in competition will open a “window of opportunity” – a hackneyed phraseology, but extremely accurate – for those who waited in the wings and saved up capital. With the Chinese, everything is very clear, they discussed it from all sides. But there are other “sufferers” as well. For example, India.
Tata Nexon
It is quite reckless to draw a modern Indian auto industry, where they manually “rivet” the TUK-ties and the “preparation” of the engine for the motor, the Castroles of the Castral. Everything is much more serious: Tata is an auto giant that produces quite modern crossovers - Nexon and Harrier, high-powered cars - the same Altroz - and many other models. By the way, Jaguar and Land Rover, so beloved by Russians, also belong to the Indian "Tata". Here's to you, grandmother, and St. George's day.
But there is also Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra, which, just to remind you, has already tried to enter the domestic market by producing SUVs at the Gorky Automobile Plant. The same ones, framed and horse-drawn, which are so highly valued in Russia. By the way, they are based on the technical solutions of SsangYong, bought by the Indians. In a word, quite a solution for our swamps. Cars from India are structurally simple, reliable and designed for bad roads and their complete absence. Does the landscape remind you of anything?
But the most important advantage will be the active establishment of financial and logistical "relationships" that are currently taking place between India and Russia. It's not even about the rapidly growing export/import and established ties in the military-industrial complex and arms supplies. The key is in the development and implementation of an internal payment system that is completely independent of SWIFT, and even in national currencies - a pair of rubles / rupees. What does it mean? Yes, Indian cars will simply be significantly cheaper than their counterparts, and state employees Alto and Dzire from Maruti Suzuki will quickly replace the Korean twin brothers Solaris-Rio.
