The second post-quarantine round of the Ukrainian Premier League gave us a number of interesting matches.
Zorya defeated Kolos in the home class, while Shakhtar and Desna staged a goal celebration at the NSC Olympiyskiy. In the derby of the Donetsk region, Olimpik and Mariupol did not reveal the strongest. Dynamo Kiev destroyed Alexandria, and Dnepr-1 managed to snatch a strong-willed victory from FC Lviv.

Viktor Skripnik made five changes at once in the starting lineup of his team, being dissatisfied with some performers. Abu Khanna, who brought a penalty in the match with Alexandria, could have scored a quick goal with a shot into the near corner, but Volynets played reliably, moving the ball to a corner. The hosts completely took the ball under their control, having occupied someone else's half of the field, so that the Kovalevites could only count on counterattacks. The Luhansk team first shot, inflicting several shots on goal, and then they took the lead. Kabaev burst into the penalty area, easily beat Gavrish and shot past Volynets - 1:0. After the goal was scored, Skrypnyk's wards did not stop there, continuing to attack. Relatively soon, Ivanisenia could double Zorya's advantage in the score, but missed the goal, winning a positional fight after a corner kick.
The Luhansk team continued to stick to their line, carrying out attack after attack, and several times they could score a second time.
Lednev had a great opportunity to score with a direct free-kick, but Bogdan struck very inaccurately. A few minutes later, Gromov hit his head after Kabaev's serve, after which Efremov got in the way of the ball, who transferred him to the corner. Before the end of the first half of the meeting, the hosts carried out several more sharp attacks, but none of them led to a dangerous moment. As for Kolos, Ruslan Kostyshin's wards never made a single shot on goal in the first half, respectively, without enough of a goal scored. The teams went to the break with a minimal advantage of Zorya.
Immediately after the break, R. Kostyshin decided to change the striker - instead of the inconspicuous Lysenko, Kozhushko entered the field, who was supposed to diversify the team's game in front, but in the end Oleg only harmed the guests. The beginning of the second half of the meeting turned out to be chaotic. The teams were rude, while not showing a meaningful game in attack. In contrast to the first 45-minute period, in the second Kolos was already boldly moving forward, breaking through on goal from time to time.
Teams often earned corners that could help score, but their crosses did not endanger any goal. In the 65th minute, Kozhushko left the Kovalevites outnumbered after receiving a second yellow card for foul play.
To the credit of the guests, after that they did not despair. A few minutes later, D. Kostyshin, who came on as a substitute, could equalize the score with a shot from close range, but Vasil did not let the ball go into the net. After the removal of Kozhushko, oddly enough, R. Kostyshyn's wards owned the ball more. The hosts were counting on counterattacks, some of them turned out to be quite dangerous, but it didn’t come to a real threat to the gates of Volynets.
In several episodes, Zorya's players found themselves in advantageous shooting positions, but still none of them managed to deliver an aimed shot at the goal. In injury time, when Volynets went into someone else's penalty area, Kamenyuka scored into the empty net of Kolos, but the goal was not counted due to offside. Until the final whistle, the score did not change, so Skripnik's team celebrated a minimal victory.

The match between Shakhtar and Desna was supposed to take place in Chernigov, and the northerners were supposed to be the nominal hosts. However, everything changed, and in the first round of the second stage, the clubs and the UPL agreed to play a match in Kyiv. The miner got a rather difficult victory against the biting Desna, which created a lot of trouble for the Pitmen.

Shakhtar started the game in Kyiv, which was fairly warmed up by the summer sun, in the usual manner. Already after the first aggravating transfer, Fernando could have scored on the move, but Past survived in the episode one on one with the opponents' forward. In less than a couple of minutes, the Brazilian was once again brought to the shock position by a cross from the front on the right flank by Dodo, but here Fernando fully realized his chance. After the missed goal, Desna immediately tried to impose pressure on the opponents in their half of the field, however, Ryabokon's team only had enough for a little more than a quarter of an hour of meaningful play, after which the Pitmen's next attack on the right flanks turned into a penalty for handball when blocking a Dodo cross from Bridge.
Marlos couldn't outplay Pasta from the spot - Evgeniy went into a rush after a saved penalty in the last round, but already at the next approach Marlos managed to complete his solo pass past the defenders with a shot in the same lower left corner. We can say that he still achieved his personal perseverance. It was absolutely impossible for the Chernihiv team to go to the break with two goals conceded. The case helped and an unsuccessful attempt to block Filippov's shot from Matvienko - the ball hit the hand of Shakhtar's defender, and Anatoly Trubin did not guess the intentions of Denis Favorov, who was executing the punishment. Fernando could help his team to restore the lost advantage of two goals, but before leaving for the break, he did not realize the gift from Tamm.
Fifteen minutes of pause were a real test for Desna's coaching staff, and in an attempt to surprise opponents with an unexpected decision, Ryabokon outplayed himself. The transition to a scheme with three central defenders was extremely difficult for the guests.
And then there's Dombrowski's blunder in the center of the field arrived in time at the most unnecessary moment, after which Marlos corrected Fernando's failed arrogant attempt to complete a solo counterattack. The Ukrainian flank midfielder wanted to score a hat-trick 20 minutes before the end of regular time, but Mostovoy did not hit the net in the episode when Past had already been sent to the pitch by Marlos' false move.
Desna spent all this time reorganizing the tactical scheme, returning to serious attacks only towards the end of the meeting. The frank import of the name Matvienko - Pikhalenok helped Budkovsky to distinguish himself, and also spoiled the statistics for the young Trubin, but the “northerners” could no longer count on more, even though they pounded the left frame of the opponents' goal a few minutes earlier.

Lack of tone in official matches played a cruel joke on Mariupol in the first half. Oleksandr Babich's team showed great pressure in the opponent's half, but at the same moment lost concentration in the 16th minute, which Shahab immediately decided to take advantage of. Through his striker, Olimpik built most of the attacks, and it was the Iranian's final pass that allowed Vitaly Balashov to score a goal in conditions that were not the most suitable for this for his team.
The Priazov team had to start building their attacks virtually from scratch, while the Pitmen had to sort out the players in their own half of the pitch with high quality. Klimovsky's wards coped with their task until the end of the first half hour of the game, but the personal mistakes of individual performers still did not allow them to maintain an advantage until the break - Chobotenko corrected himself for a positional oversight made during Balashov's goal, sending the ball into the left nine with an accurate header after a cross free kick. After that, the teams no longer began to raise the degree of confrontation, which was already high due to the weather in the capital of Ukraine.
It took the teams a long time to get back the brisk pace of the confrontation after the break. The forces began to leave the players by the end of the hour of playing time, so a series of replacements from the head coaches was a logical continuation of events. During a couple of rotations, the future goalscorers appeared on the football field in the reporting meeting.
Andrey Kravchuk successfully caught a rebound from the crossbar, which the ball hit after a header from Yevgeny Pasich, and a couple of minutes later Aleksey Krachuk answered his opponent with an accurate blow - Viktor Kornienko assisted from the left flank.
After such a quick exchange of goals scored, the game lost its pattern, and the teams fell into an incessant series of counterattacks, during which both sides had every chance to score the decisive ball. However, the tenth confrontation between two teams from the Donetsk region ended in a draw. Although the moment with a handball performed by Bykov inside the penalty area of the first half sample and a penalty was not assigned for it, they will still talk for a long time. But there was no VAR at the reporting meeting.

Kaspars Dubra (Alexandria) was sent off in the 55th minute (repeated warning).
Alexandria began her path to a negative result by her own efforts. Kirill Kovalets, at the end of the first quarter of an hour of playing time, took an unjustified risk and knocked down Tsitaishvili on the left flank of his own penalty area after the Dynamo midfielder successfully passed Miroshnichenko. However, Vitaliy Buyalsky did not cope with the penalty - Pankiv was at his best, only with the efforts of Kendzery the ball was again delivered to the foot of the unlucky penalty taker. Oleksandriya did not have time to move away from the missed ball, when the center of its defense immediately received a throw into the free zone, Rusin bypassed Dubra in the usual way, after which the defender sent the opponent to the lawn, pulling on the T-shirt. The injured football player himself undertook to carry out punishments and was more successful than his teammate before.
The saying "God loves a trinity", and even on such a significant day for the Orthodox world, was more relevant than ever - Kadiri decided to "drop" Sitalo in his own team's penalty area, after which the chief referee Vitaly Romanov appointed the third penalty for the first half.
The powerful execution of the strike under the crossbar from Dmitry Grechishkin was impossible to repel. A good scoring help, as for the relatively unsaturated first 45 minutes of the game, made it possible not to notice that the game spilled over into the second half, where there was already one team on the field.
Dynamo got the right to play in the numerical majority as a result of the ridiculous actions of Kaspars Dubra. Two lost episodes of the struggle to Nazariy Rusin were crowned with two retentions of the departing opponent for the body, for which it was impossible not to show warnings. While Alexandria was being rebuilt, the people of Kiev were able to create the support necessary for success.
Mikolenko immediately felt free on the left flank of the attack immediately after being sent off and often rushed into the opponent's penalty area, one of which was completed with an accurate shot from close range after Buyalsky's pass. The same Vitaliy scored a double already in the final segment of the meeting, completing the exact blow of De Pena, which Carlos struck shortly before the final chord in the confrontation.
Alexandria's adventurous attempts to jump out into a counterattack only once ended with a threat to Boyko's goal - Zaderaka tested the crossbar for strength. And yet, Dubra's "efforts" turned out to be enough for Dynamo - Desna managed to be cut off from the group of Shakhtar's direct pursuers.
Due to the high incidence of coronavirus in Western Ukraine, this match was moved from Lviv to Dnipro, where FC Lviv was the nominal host of the match at the Dnipro-Arena. So, "blue-gold" and took the lead, but the team of Dmitry Mikhailenko managed to get a strong-willed victory.

The opening of the meeting was held in a restrained manner, the teams took turns in possession of the ball, but did not approach each other's goal at all. Over time, the Dnipro took possession of the playing and territorial advantage, having moved to someone else's half of the field. However, they did not get lucky there, playing without any idea in the last third of the field. Standards could help to score, after the innings of which Loginov punched twice on goal, but both of his shots went wide of the target.
Yeghishe Melikyan's wards withstood the onslaught from the opponent, then taking the game away from their own half of the field. At first, they did not succeed in attack, but then it was the nominal hosts who could score first. Velves received a pass from Sheena and aimed it into the near corner, but Yurchuk coped with his shot, moving the ball to a corner. Already in the return attack, Supryaga could have scored, having shot tightly at the goal from outside the penalty area, but Sarnavsky was also reliable in the frame of his goal.
In one of the episodes, Dmitry Mikhailenko's men were very close to scoring, but Sarnavsky prevented this. The goalkeeper turned the ball into the crossbar after hitting Adamyuk with his head. And already in the return attack, the Lviv team opened the scoring - Sheena calmly dragged the ball, burst into the penalty area and shot right into the far six - 1:0. After a missed goal, Dnepr-1 again actively went forward, intending to restore parity as soon as possible, but there were no dangerous moments at the opponent's goal. Despite this, the Dnipro team managed to level the score before going to the break. In the 42nd minute, the debutant of the Tsurikov team took advantage of the rebound of the ball in the penalty area and shot the goal - 1:1. In the remaining minutes of the first half, there were no more dangerous moments, so the teams went to rest with a draw on the scoreboard.
After the game was resumed, Dnipro-1 again took control of the ball, hoping to score an early goal, but this did not happen due to the absence of dangerous moments.
Nominal guests could again score thanks to a set piece, but Buleza's direct free-kick was inaccurate. Mikhailenko's wards often shot at the goal, but the really dangerous moments began to appear closer to the middle of the half. At first, Buleza delivered an aimed sweeping shot at the goal, which, however, Sarnavsky managed to manage. A minute later, goalkeeper Lvov pulled the ball in a cool jump after hitting Hoblenko with his head.
The Dnipros continued attack after attack hoping to finish off the opponent, but either their blows were inaccurate or Sarnavsky was again on top. In one of the episodes, Buleza made a solo pass and seemed to have shot for sure, but in this case, the goalkeeper of the nominal hosts saved his team. After some time, Melikyan's charges calmed down the game, then making attempts to attack. During one of the attacks, Bohunov fell in the penalty area and counted on a penalty, but the chief referee showed Yaroslav a yellow card for simulation, causing indignation among the Lvov players.
Closer to the end of the match, Dnepr-1 went ahead with large forces and, as a result, put the squeeze on the opponent. In the 87th minute, Hoblenko outplayed Bulets and delivered an accurate shot into the far corner of the goal — 1:2. After a goal scored, the Dnipro team gave the ball to the opponent, focusing on keeping the score. Melikyan's wards went to the final assault, inflicting several shots on goal, but none of them posed a real threat to Yurchuk. As a result, Dnepr-1 kept a strong-willed victory, gaining another three points. Mykhaylenko's team strengthened its position at the top of the second six, and Lviv, in turn, could not close the gap from Mariupol.
Lviv Carpathians miss the second round in a row due to an outbreak of coronavirus infection. The match of the previous round had to be canceled a day before its start, when FC Mariupol was already on its way to Lviv. Immediately after the 24th round, the leadership of the UPL officially postponed for an indefinite period the next two matches of the Karpaty against Vorskla and Dnipro-1.
The second round in a row Shakhtar's midfielder Marlos is distinguished by effective actions, raising himself in the list of scorers and in the list of players in the goal + pass system.
