Other Sizing & Product Notes
The use of button modules for switching electrical circuits is not always convenient due to the difficulty of visual position control, especially if there is no light indication on the buttons. Rocker switches are used in applications where constant visual position control is required. The principle of their operation does not differ from push-button ones, but at the same time you can immediately see in what position the switch is.
There are two-position (on / off) and three-position (on / off / on II) devices, the use of one or another type of switch is determined by the requirement for controlling the operation of electrical equipment or an automation and monitoring circuit. The body of the switches and the control link are made of high quality dielectric material, which is resistant to significant mechanical loads in a given temperature range.

Technical Concepts
The switch is a switch with three contacts. In this circuit, one electrical circuit is open while the other circuit is closed. Other designations for this electrical circuit are changeover magnetic contact or switch.
For example, this type of switch is often installed in a corridor. This way you can turn on the light at one end and turn it off at the other end of the corridor, or vice versa. This is an example of a classic switching circuit.
The basic principle is simply explained: one switch either connects to another or opens the circuit.
The switch can also be used for switching off. For example, a lamp in a room can be turned on or off, respectively, from only one place. A classic example is a kitchen light switch to turn the ceiling light on or off.
When connected in series, two electrical consumers (eg lamps) can be switched on or off independently of each other. This requires a switch cover with two switching surfaces (rocker switches). They are only twice as narrow as a switch, circuit breaker, or cross (swivel) switch. Other designations are also double switch or serial switch.
Thus, with the help of a serial switch, two consumers of electricity can be switched from one place.
The double switch has two switches in one housing. Thanks to the compact design, it is possible to save on the dimensions of the flush-mounted switch box during installation.
As with the serial switch, separate (serial) switches are also used.
The double switch allows two electrical consumers to be switched on from two different locations.
The cross switch has four electrical contacts and is also called a polarity switch (reverser). The switch can open or close a circuit independently of any other cross switches.
A common form of installation is cross-wiring, where in a room with multiple entrances the light can be turned on or off respectively from any light switch.
If an electrical consumer (eg a lamp) must be switched on from two or more places, cross switches are used. In this case, during installation, switches are set at the beginning and at the end, and any number of cross switches can be installed between them. When the cross switches are actuated, they interchange the corresponding wires.
If it is necessary to disconnect an electrical consumer from more than three places, a circuit with push buttons and impulse switches is a more economical solution. Because there are enough two conductors for each button. The cross switch requires four wires.
Control switches are used for external lights, external sockets or external bathroom switches.
When the switch is activated, respectively turned on, a neon lamp or LED lights up for control. Therefore, switch covers for control switches have a translucent window in the middle. They can be neutral white or orange, or have a symbol.
Neon lights require a neutral conductor. If there were no neutral conductor, the neon lamp would glow even when the switch is off.
You can control the blind motor with the blind switch. To protect the blind motor, you can always use only one button at a time. At this time, the other button is electrically or mechanically blocked.
Like the serial switch, this switch often uses separate rocker switches. Very often, these switches are indicated by a symbol (arrow up, arrow down).
A pushbutton circuit is a circuit with buttons and relays that often operates with a control circuit separate from the load circuit. Everyone knows this scheme for turning on the lighting in the entrance or the doorbell.
In home wiring, the pushbutton circuit is used when electrical devices must be operated from at least three locations. Although the circuit needs an impulse switch, it is easier to wire it. In addition, instead of an impulse switch, you can use a staircase lighting switch with a timer. The timer automatically turns off the light after a set period of time e.g. 2 minutes.
Other possible uses for the button are a doorbell or a door opener (door buzzer). Here, current flows only while the button is pressed. When the button is released, the circuit opens again and the bell stops ringing.
If the button is pressed after use, it always returns to its original position. For functional applications, there is a strictly defined position of the rocker switch. This results in a uniform appearance for multiple combinations.
Please note:
Pushbutton switch cannot be used for relay or ladder circuits.
Pushbuttons also available as serial switch, cross switch and control switch (illuminated).
Rocker switch already available from some manufacturers, but not compatible with conventional rocker switches.
Frequently asked question and this is a decision in favor of old or new technology.
In general, LEDs are characterized by their durability. LEDs are available in many colors such as red, yellow, blue, green.
Classic neon only available in red/orange. The service life of neon lamps is much shorter than that of LED lamps.
Control switches and buttons (keys) use LED or neon lamps. In houses with stairs, when using buttons (keys), the maximum current of the LED or neon incandescent lamp, respectively, should be taken into account. Otherwise, the staircase relay may be triggered by LED, respectively, neon lamps, which is undesirable.
Leading switch manufacturers offer a range of LED and neon lamps. In many functional applications, neon lamps can be easily replaced with LED ones.
There are many different devices to choose from for dimming. We want to present in this section some important points and information about dimming in order to make it easier for you to choose:
Depending on the consumer of electricity, there are different types of dimming:
Inductive dimmers
For incandescent lamps and high-voltage halogen lamps (230 V), as well as conventional (winding) transformers, the dimming of the light is carried out by inductive phase control.
Capacitive dimmers
Electronic transformers in low voltage halogen systems are controlled by capacitive phase control.
The dimmer can be controlled in different ways. Here you will find the classic dial for light intensity control and touch dimmers. Touch dimmers are controlled using a touch panel cover. A short press on the touch covers turns the light on or off. Long press the touch cover will dim the light.
The possibility of dimming an electrical consumer (eg a lamp) is indicated by a horizontal solid triangle with one or two letters below it.
The dimmer has the following designations:
C
The letter C indicates the possibility of dimming the light with a capacitive dimmer. For example, it is used for electronic transformers of low voltage halogen lamps.
L
The letter L stands for dimming with an inductive dimmer. For example, it is used for conventional inductive transformers of low voltage halogen lamps.
R
The letter R or the symbol for incandescent lamps indicates that only incandescent lamps can be dimmed with these dimmers.
In addition, there are dimmers from ELTAKO or HAGER, for example, which can be installed in the control cabinet, respectively, in the meter cabinet. This type of dimmer is controlled by classic buttons that close the contact. A short press of the button turns the dimmer on or off respectively. Pressing the button longer causes the brightness to change.
Motion sensors can be used instead of a light switch indoors and outdoors. Essentially, a motion sensor is a sensor that responds to changes (movements) or even heating within a given detection range.
The motion detector can be used indoors, for example in the cellar or garage. As soon as you enter the detection area, the light turns on automatically and turns off again automatically after the after-effect time (illumination interval) has elapsed. For example, the light in the basement is especially handy when your hands are busy with the laundry basket or shopping.
A motion sensor greets guests outside and provides a securely lit path. Intruders, on the other hand, are immediately the center of attention and are held back by the light.
The motion detector itself can be adjusted, for example, for lighting intervals and sensitivity.
