We know what to do to fix tires the first time, every time. After all, your safety rides on your tires being in good condition.
If your flat tire is repairable, we’ll fix it for free on most non-commercial passenger cars and light trucks.
We’ll get your tires repaired as fast as possible. Just come by any Les Schwab location or make an appointment online.
Every year, we mend more than 1 million tires. We guarantee that each repair will last the life of the tire.
The Best Tire Value Promise® Limited Warranty is provided for free as part of Les Schwab’s World Class Customer Service and is valid for the original purchaser of the new passenger and tubeless light truck tires listed on the original invoice (“Covered Tire(s)”).
Whatever the road throws at you, from potholes to nails or other road hazards, you have peace of mind protection that we will repair or replace your Covered Tire for its remaining value under the terms of this Best Tire Value Promise® Limited Warranty. Our workmanship is guaranteed for the life of your Covered Tires.
Les Schwab provides tire protection for Covered Tires with non-repairable damage due to normal road hazards (“Tire Protection”). If a Covered Tire is eligible for Tire Protection, you are entitled to one of the exclusive remedies listed below. Normal road hazards are unexpected contact of a Covered Tire with objects on the road that are not a normal part of the road surface, such as rocks, nails, potholes, unexpected debris, or glass
EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES: If a Covered Tire is eligible for Tire Protection, fails to conform to the limited warranty for tread life, or fails due to defects in manufacture or materials, Les Schwab will provide at its election one of the following exclusive remedies:
A. If a Covered Tire eligible for Tire Protection incurs non-repairable damage during the first 25% of tread wear, Les Schwab will replace it free of charge. After the first 25% of tread wear, Les Schwab will provide a pro-rata adjustment consistent with section (C).
B. If a Covered Tire wears to a tread depth of 2/32nds before the mileage indicated in the limited warranty for tread life, Les Schwab will make a pro-rata adjustment based on the original purchase price, excluding Federal Excise Tax, multiplied by the pro-rata adjustment. The pro-rata adjustment is 100% less miles of service divided by the mileage indicated in the limited warranty for tread life.
C. If a Covered Tire fails due to defects in its manufacture or materials during the first 25% of tread wear, Les Schwab will replace it free of charge. After the first 25% of tread wear, Les Schwab will make a pro-rata adjustment based on the original purchase price, excluding Federal Excise Tax, multiplied by the pro-rata adjustment. The pro-rata adjustment is the percentage of remaining tread down to 2/32nds. Except as set forth in section (B), a tire worn down to 2/32nds tread depth is not a Covered Tire.
D. You may elect to receive an adjustment in the form of cash or a credit applied to the purchase of new tires at any Les Schwab Tire Center.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE LIMITED WARRANTY FOR TREAD LIFE: The limited warranty for tread life does not cover services, damage or wear due to any of the following: misuse or abuse, misalignment or tires out of balance, over or underinflation, repairs, off road use or use on unpaved roads, use on commercial vehicles, campers, or trailers, excessive loading, vehicle accidents, or tire contact with curbs, poles, garbage bins or other similar items on or off the road surface.
All repairable flats on passenger and tubeless light truck tires listed on the original invoice are fixed free of charge for the life of the Covered Tire through 12.00 inch size cross section. Lock ring and tube type wheels are not included.
Proper flat repair is like a graft. The patching material used gets chemically bonded to the tire tread and is intended to make your tire as good as it was before the flat. It’s no more likely to need repair again than the other tires in your set that haven’t gone flat. The repair will last for the life of the tire but in the unlikely event there is an issue, we will fix it for free.
We use the industry standard approach called plug and patch. We clean up the hole in the tread, get any debris out, plug the puncture with rubber and plies and patch the tire. We also reset the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system).
From the time the vehicle gets into the repair bay, the work takes 15 to 20 minutes on average. It just depends on the wheel, the size and the tire type. Flat repairs are done first come, first served, so there could be additional time involved if there are others ahead of you.
There could also be more time required if it’s a self-sealing tire or you’ve used an aerosol fix-a-flat kit. Then we have to clean out the sealant gunk and dry the inside of the tire as part of the process. We also clean the TPMS sensors and verify they haven’t been damaged by the spray.

Tires, like any other product, are under warranty. If, a couple of weeks after the purchase, the cord suddenly bursts, the tread peels off, then such a tire, in the event of an expert detection of a manufacturing defect, should be replaced or the money returned for it. It is obvious. Few people know that a regular puncture or hitting a curb with the subsequent appearance of a hernia on the tire is also covered by the warranty case. True, only if the warranty is extended.
On the one hand, the situation is quite strange. After all, the owner of the car can damage the wheel through his own carelessness. Having chosen the wrong speed on a country road, having swept along the roadside, littered with pieces of iron, and finally, due to insufficient experience, hooked on a curb with a wheel. That is, in this case, all expenses should be on his conscience.
On the other hand, the same damage can be received through no fault of your own. For example, due to the negligence of road services, which did not repair a pothole in the asphalt in time, did not remove the roadbed after an accident, or left a sewer hatch open. But, as you know, it is very difficult to recover anything from these organizations (and only within the framework of legal proceedings), and again, all damage is compensated by the driver.
Then why on earth would tire manufacturers take such risks and be willing to pay for sins they had nothing to do with? Of course, it's about reputation. Not all brands offer an extended warranty, but well-known and, as a rule, expensive ones. Moreover, not for the entire range of tires.
It is easy to guess that such risks are initially included in the retail price of tires and none of these companies will engage in "charity".
And, finally, it is not the manufacturing company that will directly solve the problems of the owner of the car and tires, but the dealer with whom the company has an extended warranty agreement. And this means that, having bought tires in a container at the car market or from hands, you should not count on any free repair or replacement.
But the most important nuance is that if you puncture a wheel on the road and put on a spare tire, you most likely will not go to your tire dealer for a free repair. Firstly, because time is more expensive, and secondly, due to the fact that it is not at all comfortable to ride on a dokatka or spare tire for a long time, and tire fitting can most often be found ten kilometers away.
In general, an extended tire warranty is more of an option than a 100% owner-friendly option. However, each of the tire manufacturers assumes strictly defined obligations, which may differ from brand to brand. So what do they offer?
Bridgestone
When buying 4 tires or more and registering for the extended warranty program within 14 days, the owner is entitled to a free repair or replacement of tires with the following unintentional damage within a year. Puncture, cut, sidewall swelling, tire burst, spikes falling out.
But there are 18 clauses under which you are not entitled to free compensation. For example, clause 11 states that a tire that has been repaired does not participate in the program. The tire you received as a gift, as well as with damage caused by operation without pressure, is not included. The list of models includes several dozen positions, but they are all from the top lines.
Continental
This brand is somewhat simpler. But you must personally come to the dealer for tires. Get a warranty coupon, sales and cash receipts. In this case, during the year there will be free repair and replacement in case of a puncture, cut, swelling of the sidewall.
For winter tires, there is also a compensation for the loss of 10% of the studs within 3,000 km or 2 months of operation. The vehicle must not be used for business purposes and the tires must have a residual tread depth of at least 4mm.
The list of models is also impressive, as in the previous case, but the models, again, are mainly from the premium line.
Dunlop
The extended warranty covers accidental damage to a tire that renders it unusable. Valid for a year even if you purchased one tire. To repair or replace a tire, present the tire and receipt to an authorized retailer.
The only problem is that the company undertakes to replace the tire within 180 days. Free tire fitting is provided only in case of tire repair, and in case of replacement - at the expense of the client.
Standard extended warranty damage list: bulge, tear, cut, puncture. There are eighteen reasons for refusing a guarantee. The peculiarity is that the loss of spikes does not fall under the extended warranty in any case. About 50 tire models fall under the program, including even Falken, which are exotic for Russia.
Gislaved
Subsidiary brand Continental declares right away that only tires with a 17” rim diameter are covered under its extended warranty program.
Next, almost everything is standard, but the buyer for Gislaved is a retailer and he has all relations only with him. Puncture, cut, swelling are recognized as damages, but tires are replaced only if their dimensions exceed 6 mm in diameter. Spike loss is not covered by the program under any circumstances.
The list of documents required to implement the extended warranty is not small, both for the end user and for the buyer, i.e. the retailer. And if, when replacing a tire, it is not possible to find the desired model, an analogue is offered. The Gislaved Extended Warranty is only valid for individuals who purchase tires from authorized retailers.
The program is valid for one year from the date of purchase and each wheel purchased is covered only once. The list of models is small: for the summer range - UrbanSpeed and UltraSpeed, for the winter range - NordFrost 5/100/200, SoftFrost 3/200.
Goodyear
This brand has chosen to refer to the extended warranty as "Premium Warranty". This does not change the essence - the damage falling under it is standard: puncture / cut, swelling and rupture of the sidewall. The advantage is that the program is valid even with the purchase of one tire, and the model range that falls under the extended warranty is really large and is not limited to the top segment. The only exceptions are tires for light commercial vehicles, as well as the Wrangler AT / SA, Wrangler AT / SA +, Wrangler AT / R, Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar, Wrangler Duratrac and Wrangler MT / R with Kevlar models.
Goodyear Premium Warranty is only valid if the warranty certificate and proof of purchase of Goodyear passenger tires are registered on the manufacturer's portal within 30 days of purchase.
The Korean company clearly indicates that its extended warranty applies to tires purchased only at the centers of the official dealer "SHINSERVICE" and some others. Moreover, the company explained that it is official dealers who are developing this program, and Kumho only supports it financially. Types of damage and prerequisites are completely standard: a tread depth of at least 4 mm, but you need to purchase at least four tires.
A prerequisite is the presence of a correctly completed warranty card, which the consumer receives at the time of purchase of tires, as well as the presence of a sales receipt, delivery note or work order indicating the date of purchase, model, size and cost of the tire.
It is interesting that if you need to replace one tire and in the absence of this model, the manufacturer changes two at once. Thus, the rule of mandatory installation of two identical tires on one axle is observed. The list of models Kumho does not regulate.
Maxxis
The Maxxis Extended Individual Warranty is valid for two years from the date of purchase for standard damage, which is good enough. However, the list of models is small: NP3 Arctic Trekker, NP5 Premitra Ice Nord, SP-02 Arctic Trekker, AP2 Allseason, WP-05 Arctic Trekker, NS3 Arctic Trekker, NS5 Premitra Ice Nord, SS-01 Ppresa SUV.
In addition, tire fitting is carried out at the expense of the client participating in the program, and repairs are carried out only by applying a universal patch or “fungus”. As in all other cases, registration in the program and purchase of tires from an authorized dealer is required.
One of the denials in the extended warranty states that the tires are not being inflated. Even if it is caused by mechanical damage. That is, in the event of a puncture or rupture of the tire, the car should immediately stop.
Michelin
The French company has one of the best extended warranties. Firstly, during the year from the date of purchase, the tire can be repaired for free an unlimited number of times and only changed - once.
Secondly, the warranty covers all models for passenger cars, off-road vehicles, and commercial vehicles under the MICHELIN trademark, purchased by both individuals and legal entities.
Minimum extended warranty restrictions. In particular, driving with broken wheel geometry, with the parking brake on and with the wrong pressure. This also includes acts of vandalism.
It is stated that the program works only when buying tires in the network of tire centers "SHINSERVICE" from 02/28/2019 to 03/01/2020 inclusive, but it is already known that it has been automatically extended for another year.
Nokian
The Finnish brand declares a lifetime extended warranty, but only on the Nokian Hakkapeliitta and Nokian Hakka models for cars and SUVs. Nokian Nordman is only valid for a year from the date of purchase.
Repair or replacement is carried out when the tread is worn up to no more than 4 mm of residual height, in case of punctures, tears, cuts and swelling of the sidewalls. The warranty must be activated on the company's website, but tires can be purchased from any authorized dealer, in a car dealership or even in an online store.
By the way, Nokian also introduced an electronic extended warranty system. It implies the absence of a paper warranty card. It is enough to register your purchase once and activate the warranty service from Nokian Tires in order to subsequently use the service to repair or replace a damaged tire.
Pirelli
The Italians called their extended warranty program Tirelife. To become a member, you need to purchase from two tires in the "SHINSERVICE" network and draw up a package of documents. In case of standard operational damage, the tire will be replaced or repaired free of charge. What's more, twice a year, the company guarantees a free tire inspection for hidden damage.
The program covers the entire Pirelli range, with the exception of Formula and truck tires. Valid for one year from the date of purchase.
For a complete understanding of all the conditions for providing extended warranty programs, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with them on the official websites of tire manufacturing companies.
Commentary by the expert of the company "SHINSERVICE"
In our opinion, the extended warranty for tires is, first of all, the desire of the manufacturer to demonstrate the quality of its product and show its customer focus. But, perhaps, not every client will be satisfied with the conditions of the proposed program from a particular tire brand. Most often, because the Russian car owner is not used to filling out any extra paperwork, and prefers to repair the tire immediately after damage. Not tied to a specific dealer. However, those who operate their car primarily in the city, where there are many shops offering extended warranty tire repairs and replacements, may enjoy this program. In addition, high quality repairs from an authorized dealer will be guaranteed.

A broken wheel on the road is a problem. And it's not even that you have to climb into the trunk for a spare tire and a jack. Damaged tires need to be repaired or replaced. In the case of tires bought at the market, this is done at your own expense, but when you buy wheels at tire centers, another option appears - replacement under warranty.
As in the case of any other product, warranty obligations are primarily aimed at manufacturing defects. And here's where it gets more interesting. Many tire manufacturers are ready to repair or replace a damaged tire free of charge within one year. Yes, yes, the warranty applies to each tire.
Wheels covered by warranty:
There are, of course, exceptions to the general rule. For example, the Finnish company Nokian gives a lifetime warranty on Hakka and Hakkapeliitta wheels, but they agree to repair or change tires only once. These conditions do not apply to Nordman. But Michelin is ready to repair tires an unlimited number of times during the warranty year.
Not all damage is covered by the warranty. The list is different for different manufacturers, but most of its items can be reduced to one common denominator - violation of operating conditions. This concept includes driving with low tire pressure, off-season operation of tires, incorrect wheel alignment and much more. For example, those who put narrow tires on wide rims and those who like to spin nickels in the parking lot will be deprived of guarantees.
This raises a reasonable question: how do tire manufacturers determine whether a tire is under warranty or not? In some situations, everything is simple. Let's say a rear-wheel drive car with worn rear wheels arrived at the service. It's clear here. More complex cases require expertise. Tire centers can even involve employees of the manufacturing company or even send the tire to the factory for a thorough examination.
Some manufacturers also prescribe the amount of damage that is considered a warranty case. The size of the side cut, for example, must be at least six millimetersDamage to tires in an accident and deliberate acts of vandalism are also not recognized as a warranty case, as well as damage during tire installation. So, in order not to lose the warranty, it is better to put the wheels in the same place where you bought them.
In order not to lose the warranty on tires, you should carefully read the conditions. They may contain unexpected items. Thus, Goodyear requires customers to register a warranty certificate on a special portal within 30 days from the date of purchase, otherwise there will be no extended warranty, and with it free repair and replacement of the wheel.
