    Sharing and Collaboration

All platforms now provide the ability to share substances, substance data (e.g. Fire Fighting Procedures or Reactivities), protective distance maps, and reference documents. In addition, a public API is now available for third party integration.

To share from your device, select the share icon from the menu or tool bar. Then follow your device's instructions to share the link via an app (e.g. text message) or copy a link of the data to your clipboard. On WebWISER, copy the link from the menu or, in the case of more complex data (e.g. chemical reactivity and protective distance), select the appropriate "Copy Link" button.

Links can be shared from all platforms and opened directly on the iOS and Android platforms. If you don't have WISER installed on your device or are on the Windows platform, links will automatically be opened in WebWISER.

The public API is open, free to use, and is used to provide the sharing features listed above. Have questions? Please contact us.

    60+ New Substances

The following substances have been added to WISER. New substances are chosen based on consumer demand and expert review. Expert review includes an analysis of the likelihood that a substance is encountered, the hazard the substance presents, and inputs from emergency responders, toxicologists, and medical personnel.

Take a quick look at what's included in this release:

    • News and notifications, much like this one, now provide details about each WISER release.
    • Detailed bibliographies are now available for much of the substance data within WISER.
    • Protective distance mapping now supports the export of KML (Keyhole Markup Language) data on the WISER for Windows and WebWISER platforms.
    • Redesigned the WISER for Windows protective distance mapping capability.
    • Added many smaller updates and bug fixes.

    See more details below.

    News and Notifications

All WISER platforms now include the ability to let users peruse the features added in recent releases. Please take a look at these items to see the latest content and feature updates added to WISER.

    Bibliographies

Much of WISER's data is sourced from the National Library of Medicine's Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB). Data provided by this vital peer-reviewed and updated data source now includes detailed bibliographies within WISER.

In addition, the display of bibliographies has been redesigned. Bibliographies are provided as a simple title that, if selected, will display the full bibliography. In the case that multiple sources agree, the content is now displayed once along with all matching bibliography data.

    Protective Distance Updates

Protective distance mapping now supports the export of KML (Keyhole Markup Language) data on the WISER for Windows and WebWISER platforms. Share a created protective distance zone with any third party application that supports KML import, e.g. CAMEO's MARPLOT Software.

Protective distance mapping within WISER for Windows has been redesigned. The new native Windows implementation includes much-improved performance alongside many smaller updates, e.g. better zoom and location discovery.

Take a quick look at what's included in this release:

    • Added the Fourth Generation Agents substance record and reference material.
    • Added the ASPIRE (Algorithm Suggesting Proportionate Incident Response Engagement) prototype decision aiding tool and PRISM (Primary Response Incident Scene Management) guidelines.
    • Updated the use and display of data bibliographies.
    • Implemented Android and iOS operating system compatibility updates.
    • Added many smaller updates and bug fixes.

    See more details below.

    Fourth Generation Agents

Fourth generation agents, also known as Novichoks or A-series nerve agents, belong to a category of chemical warfare agents that are unique organophosphorus compounds. They are more persistent than other nerve agents and are at least as toxic as VX. WISER data for fourth generation agents now includes a full substance record as well as reference material, included as part of the CHEMM (Chemical Hazards Emergency Medical Management) suite of medical guidance.

    ASPIRE and PRISM

ASPIRE (Algorithm Suggesting Proportionate Incident Response Engagement) is a prototype decision aiding tool developed by experts in medicine and emergency response to help identify the need for patients exposed to chemical agents to undertake wet decontamination.

PRISM (Primary Response Incident Scene Management) guidelines, which are included as part of the ASPIRE tool, were written to provide authoritative, evidence-based guidance on mass casualty disrobe and decontamination during a chemical incident. See the full set of PRISM guidelines here.

WebWISER is best viewed with the following browsers (indicated version or higher): Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 26, Safari 7, or Google Chrome 30.

WISER is also available as a stand-alone application for PCs and various mobile platforms, including iOS and Android devices. See the WISER home page for free downloads and more information about WISER.
