3. Reverse split and rounding remainder
In reverse split, instead of increasing the number of securities and reducing the price, the quantity decreases and the price increases, respectively. Example 1: With a 2 reverse split and an existing position of 100 shares in the securities account, the entry is −100 and +50.
In the tax report, the reverse division is reflected in the same way as the normal division. However, in the case of a reverse division, rounding is more likely to result in a remainder. For this reason, the owner of the securities partially receives money for the residual position instead of the securities, and the sale of the residual position must be declared when splitting.

In the tax report, the cost of acquiring the option is included in the costs associated with the alienation of the shares being sold.

Gross dividends 300 × 0.1 = 30 USD, of which 30% income tax is withheld on USD 10, and no income tax is withheld on USD 20. The client's account receives 100 × 0.1 × (1 − 0.3) + 200 × 0.1 = 27 USD.

Gross dividends 500 × 0.14 = 70 USD, of which 15% income tax is withheld from 56 USD, and 30% is withheld from 14 USD. 400 × 0.14 × (1 − 0.15) + 100 × 0.14 × (1 − 0.3) = 57.40 USD is credited to the client's account. The income tax rate is 18%.
