If you like pickup trucks then you probably like dualies even more. Let’s face it, there is just something cool about cruising down the road in a full size, heavy duty pickup with four wheels under the bed. When www.dual-concepts.com asked us to check out their Clic Dual Wheel system for ATVs we found ourselves wondering if the same logic applied to ATVs.
The first thing we noticed after opening the box was the industrial grade manufacturing quality of the adapters and rims. The cast aluminum adapters and rims are beefy but still lightweight. All of the fasteners are high grade and look ready to go the distance.
Installation was a snap (or maybe a clic?). If you can change a tire then you should be able to install a pair of Clic Dual Wheels in about 20 minutes. (If you can’t change a tire then you probably wouldn’t be visiting this web site) Installation consists of replacing your factory lug nuts with the special adapter lug nuts then bolting on the two-piece adapter plate. Once that adapter is in place all you need to do is set the Clic wheel on the adapter plate, give the wheel a little twist then turn two locking levers. It helps if you have your wheel sitting on a 2×4 to get a little elevation but you can do it without elevating the wheel if you are on the trail.

So, how did they perform? Quite well, actually. We weren’t able to test them in every condition they were designed for but we found that they performed quite well in loose dirt, mud and on moderate inclines. Our normally unstoppable Suzuki KingQuad became even more unstoppable with a pair of Clic Dual Wheels on the back. Traction in mud and loose dirt was dramatically improved. The added traction made it very difficult to get the powerful KingQuad to break the tires free in loose dirt.
If you have two sets of wheels and adapters you can run a set on the front and back. We weren’t able to test a dual-dualie set up but we have been told that configuring your ATV with 2 sets of Clic Dual Wheels will actually make it float in swampy or boggy terrain.
One of the nicest things about the Clic Dual Wheels is the ease of installation once you have the adapters installed. On the trail you can install and uninstall a pair of Clic Dual Wheels in less than a minute. Clic even offers a rack mountable carrier frame called the Clic Pic-Up that allows you to easily store the wheels when you don’t need them.
This simple convertibility pays dividends in other ways. When you needed to plow a driveway you would quickly install the studded or chained tires. When the job is done just remove the Clic wheels so there is no need to mess with dismounting the chains or removing the studded tires.
There were a couple of negative effects of having the Clic Dual Wheels installed. The obvious disadvantage of the Dual Wheels is that the increased track width makes it more difficult to get your ATV through tight spots. We also noticed an increase in turning radius. Finally, we were not comfortable exploring the ample top speed of our KingQuad with the Dual Wheels installed. All of these disadvantages were negated, however, by the easy installation of the Dual Wheels. When coupled with the Clic Pic-Up rack all you need to do is carry the wheels with you and when you find yourself in a situation where you need them just click them in place press on through.
A pair of Clic Dual Wheels will set you back $895 (plus tires) and they offer a 10% discount when ordering 2 sets so turning your ATV into an 8 wheeled monster will only cost you $1611. Shipping is free anywhere in the continental US. Clic also makes dual wheel systems for trucks.
If you find yourself needing to get through nasty, soupy terrain on a regular basis you should consider a set of Clic Dual Wheels for your ride.

Information about tires for motorcycles
Question: Can ATV tires be balanced?
Answer: Yes, you can. It will not be worse. This is purely a matter of expediency and economy. The tire fitter will be a little surprised by such an order. Perhaps he will need a fair amount of weights.
Question: What is the best way to do this?
Answer: Let the tires rest warm. Mount, pump up the necessary pressure. Make sure that the tire beads are seated on the disk seats. Tires for ATVs usually have a diagonal design and are subject to deformation during transportation. They need to be given some time to take the correct form. And only after that - to balance.
Question: Is it necessary to balance?
Answer: No. The point of balancing tires on a vehicle is to minimize wear and improve ride comfort. Is this achievable on a quad bike? The ATV does not develop high speed, it travels over rough terrain. Small tractor. Does it make sense to balance tires on a tractor?
Question: So be it, but I am a perfectionist. Where is the best place to go for wheel balancing?
Answer: Most likely to any tire shop where the fitter agrees to do it.
Question: Which weights are better to use - padded or adhesive?
Answer: Those that will provide a strong fixation on the disc in rough terrain in difficult conditions. Most likely, adhesive weight on the inner surface of the disk. For mud tires, the answer is no. Experiment.
Question: I feel discomfort when driving, what should I do?
Answer: To begin with, wash off the dirt from the inner surface of the wheel. Check suspension. Check disk geometry. Then check the geometry of the wheel assembly. Do not forget the advice above - tires should be mounted in warmth, restore their working shape in warmth. Imported tires are of high quality, but what if there is an accidental power inhomogeneity in the layers? If the tires are not new, and the ATV has been sitting idle for the entire winter season, you can see if there are “pressure sores” in the tire.
Question: And what to do next?
Answer: If new, contact the seller. The buyer has the right to a good quality product.
If the tires were not moving, try to "roll out". These are diagonal tires, the chance that they will recover is very high.
Question: There is a strong beating on the wheel, will the balancing correct the situation.
Answer: As the tire fitters say, even a brick can be balanced. Only the wheel geometry is not corrected.
Question: Are factory tires balanced?
Answer: Yes, some firms balance. Do not forget, however, that stock tires are smaller and have lugs.
Q: Can I balance ATV tires myself?
Answer: Yes, it is not very difficult. You just need to make some simple device for promotion. It will be static balancing, rough, but quite sufficient. But where to get the weights?

How to choose motorcycle tires and why do you need tippers?
So that newbies and amateurs in our motorcycle fraternity don't get confused in terms, we have prepared a little background on the general differences between motorcycle tires.
What kind of tires are there? What are they for?
All motorcycle tires are divided into 4 large groups: slick tires, road tires, dual-purpose tires and off-road tires.

Tire selection
Ever wondered what the colored stripes on tires are?
Let's explain everything now.

Wheel sliders PBK
There was a question about finding sliders, not for a pit bike, but for a full-fledged motard. A bunch of different options were reviewed, but even top brand branded sliders either did not fit, or were made explicitly with the expectation of one micro-drop, after which they would simply fly away in an unknown direction! A PRICE !!! it's just awful! And they were all cast, that is, vacuum formed .... In short, hard brittle plastic with a huge price.

Spoke wrench
Whatever pit bike you ride, and no matter what wheels are on it (top or simplest), and on those, and on those, the spokes tend to stretch, and the rims and spoke nipples to sink. Simply put, the spokes begin to dangle, which, of course, is unacceptable, especially during active use, because the wheel can simply fold due to one suddenly bursting spoke. To avoid this, you need to regularly stretch the knitting needles. To do this, you need a key to pull the spokes. But the world of pit bikes does not stand still, and more and more new components appear, and wheels are no exception! There are already many types and types of wheels. The spoke nuts and the spokes themselves are far from similar and have different sizes, in which case the simplest spoke wrench will no longer work.

Aluminum spacer for two calipers
I have never used a spacer specifically for an understudy, but I can say for 100% that the aluminum part is much better than any steel, and the caliper mounting plate is no exception. Yes, for installation it will be necessary to pick up a wheel spacer, but it seems to me that this has not been a difficult procedure for a long time, because, oddly enough, there are a lot of turners, and, fortunately, they learned how to cut their own bushing directly to size.

Primary wheel assembly
Let's say you bought a wheel, you don't know how to center, and you don't have a frame for this, but you want to save money and not pay for assembly from scratch. And you’ll do it right, because the wheel can be easily assembled by yourself in a little more than an hour. Let's start with the basics: make sure you have a good rim, an intact hub and a full set of spokes (32 or 36 depending on the type of wheel).

Why low tire pressure is needed in winter
Not all of us have money for studded tires, or in winter trips are rare, and spending money on studded tires is not at all profitable. But with rare trips, of course, you want to achieve a more or less good grip and hook. To do this is not so difficult. For good grip, you need to reduce the pressure in the wheels to a minimum. Thus, firstly, you reduce the pressure on the soil, and the wheel does not break through the fragile snow crust so much (if it's just a rolled track). And, of course, due to the low pressure, the contact patch of the tire with the surface you are driving on is much higher! The rubber wraps around bumps rather than sliding over them.

Installation of a towing device in the front wheel of a pit bike wheel spools. In addition, in winter it is necessary to make the pressure in the wheels minimal, for example, last winter I left at a pressure of 0.7 atm.
There were no problems with the front wheel, as the tires were so-so, and the brakes were completely native. But after installing good rubber, PRO caliper, reinforced wenheel hose, and a Brembo brake machine, the cameras began to break through twice. This is because now, due to the increased grip and powerful braking force, the front tire began to rotate on the disk in the same way, tearing off the spools.

Reinforced Sawa chamber for pit bike
Actually, once again, the front wheel chamber died, what this time the reason is unknown. The first time, low pressure riding killed the camera. The second time the camera parted along the seam, it can be seen that the salivary composition of the glue was not very good (the flimsy Chinese went). Well, now the spool just tore off and hello.
In general, this situation got me, plus the closer winter, the lower the pressure should be lowered, and I decided to buy a reinforced SAWA camera as an experiment.

Tire beading
And so the wheel is punctured and needs to be bottled. To do this, you will need two pry bars, a cap to unscrew the spool, and preferably silicone grease.
And so we turn out the spool.
Next, you need to fully seat the tire on both sides so that the seating edge of the tire completely leaves the seats on the disk. all this in order for the tire to have free play and be easy to bead.
Beading should be started from the opposite side of the spool, so that even with the maximum tire tension, the chamber is not damaged, in the place, as a rule, of the thickening at the place where the spool is soldered. To start beading, you will need one large mount, with which we hook the tire.

Cross-country tires
As we all know, pit bikes were originally designed more as recreational than serious sports equipment.
But as time goes on, everything changes, and from toys for entertainment, pit bikes have formed their own established class and occupied a full-fledged niche in motocross.
Of course, in our country, the level of competition can hardly be called professional. For the most part, amateurs go to cross-country tracks on amateur-class pit bikes.

Rubber for motard
So, we all know that motard wheels currently exist in two main dimensions: 12, which are represented by casting and spokes, and 14, which are only in spoke design. Very rarely there are also 10 wheels, but there are only a few of them.
09/06/2016
Enduro tires
It so happened that 70% of pit bike owners operate a pit bike more as an enduro than as a cross-country sports equipment.
Basically, what's the difference? Everything is obvious: sports equipment is an operation only in the mode of cross-country tracks. And enduro ... It's a complete trash: I go where I see, and that's it, and this is crushed stone, and a field, and soft and hard soils, and asphalt surface ...

bearings
I think many have seen the unconscious cries of “Yes, these hubs are rubbish, bearings will hang out in them soon!” Such school nonsense is heard daily and constantly, with or without reason.
So, we will talk about the seats of the wheel bearings and why the seats still sag.
28.12.2015
Rim tape
Not an article, but a cry from the heart and a monument to idiocy. We are talking about such an elementary thing as a rim tape. The murderous idiocy of using or vice versa ignoring this IMPORTANT DETAILS has been noticed by me more than once.
12/28/2015
We take out the wheel bearing cage
Wheel bearings require periodic replacement and careful monitoring of their condition, otherwise they will fall apart stupidly. Moreover, this will first affect the rear brakes in the instant disappearance of the pads. But if you are such a gouge, like me, for example, and you clicked a moment, and a set of scrap metal remained from the bearing, then read and see.

Spoke wheels motard
Often you have a question: which wheels to put on motard? Spoke or cast? Let's say right away: if you collect an urban motard, and not a pit, sharpened only for track days and trips to karting tracks, then you don’t need casting, especially since it weighs much more, and you don’t need it for off-piste driving. But spoked wheels are different! But what exactly - read the article.
28.12.2015
Cast wheels motard
Spoke wheels for a pit bike designed specifically for the track or for hard treading on paved roads, this is not quite what you need. By the way, the spokes are also not the best option for engines tuned “I don’t want to”: the load is very large, and the spokes will weaken one way or another.
