The ATV Spray Boom is a simpler and smaller version of large farm equipment.
Spraying small orchards, vineyards or large lawns can be completed quickly with an ATV or ATV with a DIY boom sprayer. A sprayer tank is mounted on the ATV rack; multi-nozzle boom increases spray surface area. While farms use side booms with three flat nozzles on one or both sides, a simple three spray nozzle behind the ATV can be used to spray grass on lawns.
Spray booms can be installed in a variety of locations on an ATV, but nozzle type, boom height, and nozzle spacing are important design considerations. The design detailed here is based on a 15" boom height using 80 degree flat spray nozzles.
When devising homemade boom sprayer plans, it is important to understand that spacing and height arrangements vary depending on nozzle type. Use the spray coverage calculator to determine suitable sizes. This also applies to the boom sprayer for tractors.
For applications in orchards or vineyards, install a center section to allow breakaway or flexibility in case of accidental contact with plants. Some people also install rubber guards at the ends. The spray liquid should be pre-filtered with a sieve of 40 to 50 mesh to prevent clogging of the nozzles. To prevent overpressure in the system, a valve can be installed on the tee to return part of the liquid to the tank after the pressure gauge.
If you have no experience in metalworking, have the bending work done at your local metal shop. Paint in a well ventilated area.

Heat each piece of flat steel bar 8 inches from one end using a rosebud welding torch. When the metal becomes flexible, bend it 90 degrees.
Allow the bar to cool. Then drill two holes on the short end to attach the 1" U-bolts to the ATV rack and another hole on the other end to attach to the 3/4" square steel boom.
Place a square steel square in a vise and drill two holes approximately 12 inches apart or where necessary to mount on ATV rack.
Insert the bolts into the steel square and connect to the single hole on the long end of the bent flat steel pieces. Install the washer, tighten the nuts, and then prime and paint the boom metal to resist corrosion.
Cut the tube to get one piece 19" long, another 15" and a smaller piece 2" long.
Connect T sides to 15" and 2" pieces. On the side with the 2" piece, connect the compression fitting for the center spray nozzle and then the 19" tubing. Attach an elbow compression fitting for the outer nozzle on this side. On the other hand, connect the 15" tubing to the tee and place an elbow on the end of the spray nozzle. Make sure the nozzles are pointing down.
Connect the polypropylene tube to the square steel tube with cable ties. Wrap the threads with Teflon tape and install the nozzles. Attach the compression fittings to the spray bar in the correct downward direction with 3/4" by 1 3/4" U-bolts.

Attach boom to ATV rack with 3/4 U 1x1 bolts. the clamp is attached to the metal. Finally, connect the polypropylene tubing to the T compressor and to the sprayer pump outlet. Secure the connection to the pump with a clamp.

Clean water tank 120 liters (901/1201) and 180 liters respectively (1501/1801) located under the main tank. Easy filling at ground level is ensured by the location of the clean water tank on the right hand side in the direction of travel. If desired, it can also be filled from the left in the direction of travel through the filling opening.
Interior and exterior cleaning.
The standard internal tank cleaning system with rotary nozzle ensures fast and efficient cleaning. Smooth tank walls without cuts or slots ensure reliable operation and easy control.
With the optional nozzle on the hose, a thorough external cleaning of the sprayer can be carried out immediately after work in the field. The 20 m long hose reel allows effective cleaning with low water consumption at a working pressure of 10 bar.

AMAZONE booms are extremely strong and at the same time extremely light thanks to their special profile design. Nozzle bodies with built-in diaphragm check valves located in the boom profiles reliably protect the system from nozzle leakage. Boom pivot - maintenance free and durable.
Years of experience in the production of rods pays off: the conical pivot bolt is the intelligent center of an intelligent rod design! The rod attachment with the help of a conical hinge bolt avoids technical play, which ensures the optimal functioning of the rod even after several years of operation.

Q-plus booms: 12 - 12.5 - 15 m. You get as standard: hydraulic boom height adjustment, triple shock damping and one-sided folding on the left. 80 mm wide profiles provide excellent stability.
Q-plus booms can be folded out at half height instantly. Folding is carried out at any height. Requires two hydraulic outlets:
Locking and unlocking of Q-plus booms is automatic. The boom folding and tilt adjustment functions can be controlled by an electrical switch (option) and a hydraulic outlet.
Q-plus booms can also be folded out very easily by hand. Folding manually is carried out using powerful extension and pressure springs without a lock.
One-sided Q-Plus boom folding.
Q-Plus booms can be folded as standard on the left in the direction of travel.
The Q-Plus boom can be optionally equipped with preselective folding for one-sided folding on the left and right. These hydraulic functions are preselected via AMASET+, AMASPRAY+ or ISOBUS terminal.
When the boom is unfolded, only this side is folded in by pre-selecting the boom side.
Super-S1 boom - 15 – 18 – 21 m. . The new Super-S1 boom is available in 15, 18 and 21 meter working widths.
The new section layout has reduced the number of hinges, allowing for faster folding. The usual reliable and proven over the years construction of a metal profile is also used in this version of the rods. The new Super-S1 sections are 50 cm longer than the classic Super-S2 boom, but this does not change the transport height, which is still less than 4 meters. The transport width is still a compact 2.4 meters. Due to the new distribution of sections, the center of gravity has shifted closer to the tractor axis. This allows less powerful tractors to be used with the sprayer. The Super-S1 boom with a working width of 18 and 21 meters can be reduced to 15 meters by simply folding the end section, which provides more flexible use of the sprayer, especially in off-farm use.
Super-S2 booms: 15-16-18-20-21-24-27-28-30 meters.
The Super-S2 booms fold and unfold automatically using hydraulic cylinders. In the transport position, the booms are in the most compact position behind the main machine with a transport width of just 2.40 m. The transport height when coupled with a standard tractor is approx. 2.95 m. . With 3x damping suspension, hydraulic height adjustment and elastic guides, the Super-S2 booms are securely held at the right distance above the crop.

Preselective folding
One-sided folding is carried out via AMASET+, AMASPRAY+ and ISOBUS terminal via hydraulic outlets.
Profi-fold
The Profi-fold is an electro-hydraulic boom drive via oil circulation. Height adjustment, folding/unfolding, one-sided folding, working width reduction and boom tilting (Profi I) are simply controlled via the ISOBUS terminal or the multifunction joystick. Optional boom tilt with Profi II folding system.
DistanceControl with 2 or 4 sensors
With Super-S booms in combination with Profi Fold I or II, fully automatic DistanceControl boom guidance with 2 or 4 sensors is possible. On crops with sharply different development or on laid crops, the boom, when equipped with 2 sensors, can sink into the crops. In this case, equipment with four sensors will come to the rescue. The sensors are switched on electrically, in parallel, and the sensor closest to the target surface is always taken into account.

Wind drift reduction even at high wind speeds.
Injection nozzles with air injection function can be used to apply plant protection products with minimal drift in windy conditions. They find universal application in all cultures and under any conditions. Since the drug is applied in large drops, these nozzles can be used even at high wind speeds.

Single and multiple nozzle holders.
Nozzle bodies located in the boom profiles with integrated diaphragm check valves reliably protect the system from nozzle leakage. Self-adjusting bayonet locks allow quick nozzle changes without the use of tools. Three and four body nozzles are suitable for frequent nozzle changes for different applications, preparations and crops. Nozzle protection tubes on the end arms or (on request) across the entire working width provide protection for long injector nozzles and multi-body fixtures.
Injection nozzles (ID, TTI) have a wide droplet spectrum and are particularly variable in terms of application. The pressure range is possible within 2-8 bar.
If the quality of the wetting of the surfaces to be treated is of prime importance during application, it is recommended to use standard or anti-drift nozzles with fine droplets, such as XR or AD. However, at pressures above 3 bar, special care is required due to the tendency to wind drift.
Modern compact injectors ID-K or Airmix are a good compromise: they are relatively resistant to wind drift, however, the droplet size is average at an operating pressure of 2-4 bar.
