Probably the most offensive and unpleasant thing for a girl is when one of her nails breaks. Especially if everyone else is even, long and beautiful. And he also interferes - he clings to everything, makes puffs ... And you don’t want to lose a beautiful manicure because of one nail! If your nail broke a little (3-4th part of the nail), then the situation can still be saved, although not for long, as we would like.
Special kits are available and are much easier than purchasing all the tools needed for this procedure separately. The kit usually contains a disinfectant, a special tissue for repairing the nail, glue, a file or a buff, powder, and excellent nail scissors will not interfere. This kit is enough to make an urgent nail repair at home.
Disinfector is a special tool for degreasing the nail plate, preventing infection under the varnish layer. It does not dry out the nail, but it does not last very long. After half an hour, the nail becomes as wet as it was before.
There are three types of fabrics - silk, linen and fiberglass. Flax is used very rarely, as its structure is very rough and not the best for a delicate nail. It is easier to use the other two types of fabric. I give my preference to silk. Silk nail repair is sold in the form of ribbons or already cut to size nails. And the mechanism of its use is as simple as an ordinary patch.
The nail adhesive has a special structure. It is very soft and does not harm the nail plate, unlike Moment type adhesives. If it gets on the skin, the glue is simply removed after drying with a needle.
The nail file or buff must be very soft so as not to scratch the nail, but only to give it shine and to compare the surface. The abrasiveness of such files varies around 240 grid.
Buffs differ from files in that they have a slightly different structure, reminiscent of foam, and are very soft.
The powder is almost transparent or light in color and odorless. It is used to strengthen the adhesive composition and give it color.
And now let's consider what is the correct sequence and mechanism for using these tools.
1. A broken nail must first be properly prepared. First of all, we clean it with a buff or a soft file, directing movements from the cuticle to the free edge of the nail. With these actions, we also remove the shine. Degrease the nail plate with a disinfectant. At home, you can also use a simple nail polish remover for this purpose.
2. Cut off the required amount of nail repair silk (or other fabric). On the other hand, it is sticky, so it can simply be glued to the nail at the fracture site, so that it completely covers the crack.

On this design we drip a drop of glue, it will help the silk last longer. If it gets on the skin a little, then after the glue dries, remove these residues on the skin with a needle.
When it dries a little, the powder can be wiped off with a napkin. After that, you can apply some more glue.
5. When the design dries a little, it is necessary to polish the nail. For this we will also use a soft file or buff. We carefully clean the surface of the resulting silk structure in order to bring it as close as possible to the surface of the nail.
This procedure is very convenient, not expensive and lasts only about 5 minutes, and all this lasts only 2-3 days, if you take special care, then up to a week. Therefore, this method of repair is used in order to let it grow a little, and not to cut it “by the meat” and keep you a charming manicure created at home for a few more days.
To make the patch less noticeable, cover the nail with several layers of varnish. You can also place rhinestones or other designer things at the place of breakage. In no case should you resort to this type of nail repair if it is broken so that the skin is touched and the wound bleeds. Otherwise, it will only get worse. Here it is better to turn to specialists. That's basically all I wanted to say here! And most importantly, let your nails never break, then you won’t need to repair them!

How to use silk for nail restoration
First step
Preparation of the problem area: leveling the broken edge with a soft nail file and degreasing the plate with a disinfectant or nail polish remover or.
Second step
Preparing the fabric sheet: cutting out a strip of silk that can completely cover the resulting crack.
Third step
Nail glue (small amount) is applied to the fracture site and the cut silk is placed on it. Using an orange stick, the tissue is leveled over the surface of the nail plate. If desired, you can glue a second across the first silk patch.
Fourth stage
The surface of the nail is cleaned from the remnants of dried glue (it is necessary to file the resulting tubercle with grinders). After the procedure, you can cover all nails with a texture varnish with small grains (sand, sparkles). Such a coating will not only provide a beautiful uniform manicure, but also enhance the adhesion of silk and glue to the crack.
How to repair a nail with silk and gel polish
If a serious problem has occurred and the crack is located in the area of the nail bed, then the regrowth process may be delayed. In this case, experts advise combining repairs with silk plates with gel polish.
This step will allow you to fix the nail in the desired position for 2-3 weeks and greatly simplify subsequent procedures.
