Tire catalog 2022 - new items, bestsellers, buy tires.
The Board of Directors of Nokian Tires made a decision in principle to invest in a third plant and authorized the group's management to sign an agreement of intent with the relevant executive bodies in the United States. The new plant will be located in Dayton, Rhea County, Tennessee, USA. The plant will have a production capacity of 4 million tires per year with potential for expansion in the future. The site will also house a logistics center for 600,000 tires. The total investment at this stage is approximately US$360 million. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2018, with the first tires due in 2020.
“The new plant is above all a strategic decision to continue development and open up new paths for Nokian Tires.
Overall tire sales are expected to increase in the coming years. With this investment, we will get the necessary production capacity for growth. The Dayton plant will not only enable us to serve our North American customers better and more efficiently, but will also improve our manufacturing capabilities and overall customer service,” says Petteri Walldén, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nokian Tires.
“Choosing North America demonstrates our commitment to customers in one of our most important growth markets. Dayton, Rhea County was selected based on a number of factors, including the availability of a skilled workforce, logistical capabilities, and the District's business-oriented administration. After a thorough study of the issue, it was clear that Tennessee was the best choice for building a plant, and we are proud to be part of the community in this region,” says Andrey Pantyukhov, Interim President and CEO of Nokian Tires.
The planned number of employees of the plant is about 400 people.
